I'm getting fed up with buying supposedly quality drill bits and then as soon as I use em the buggers snap!or the quality is not as one would hope. The last lot I bought was a micro box and they are absolute garbage. It's the really small sizes like 0.2, 0.3 etc that I need and a decent quality too. So any suggestions chaps?

I think TRM reviewed some from a sponsor a couple of weeks ago, and he's using them...

Smudge, I found this company a while back, they supply the jewellers trade and you can buy individual sizes in boxes of ten for less than £4 hereBe careful you can spend a lot of money on this site! No affiliation just a happy customer. Tony

I'm using the Tamiya set from 0.3-0.8. So far I was only able to destroy the 0.3 (my fault) and so had to buy a replacement, again from Tamiya.
Cheers, Tobi

If you really want a quality tool, then go with a quality name. I would start with Sears, Black N Decker, Snap-On, Matco... well, you see where I am going with this. Also it really depends on HOW you use the drill bit and care for it too. Most bits that size wear-out quickly if used in a material other than plastic or wood. Always 'clean' off after using and store with a light coat of oil or lubricant to keep the tool as sharp as possible and never let the bits to be store together in a bag where they touch or bang against each other. I just bought off eBay a 16 piece set from 2MM to 3MM for 6 bucks shipped free. I need to drill out some VVSS trailing arms for my 1/16 build and need to 'sneak-up' to the 2.98MM axle (3MM) and those might fill the bill. HTMS Jeff

good drill bits are brittle and care needs to be excercised when using them.I purchase them where I work three or four at a time as I always end up being a bit heavy handed

Pete, wetsellery beat me with that place so i will have to settle for seconding his recommendation. One of the best things about them are they are all 1/8" shanks and I find I am changing collet less moving from drill bits to just about any other accessory used. And if oyu need them they have WAY smaller than #80.
