I decided to give in and embrace the current Pz III madness on the forum lately. This is my offering, a Pz III N from sPzAbt. 501 in Tunisia. Yes ladies, she's a braille scale build. This is only the second 1/72 scale piece I have ever built. Took two entire evenings, only because I had to work overtime on the first, thus starting the build late. Paint tomorrow! This is my custom mix of RAL 8000 using MM Acryl. G

Wouter, Pete-Dragon produces some of the most detailed little kits I have seen. It was almost too detailed for the scale. Deano, Leon-Thank you gentlemen for the kind words. Any mistakes can be attributed to my ham fisted build style for sure. Andy,Dario - I keep a supply around just for these types of photos. You can find almost anything in Las Vegas. Moving on, we have paint. I primed with MM Acryl Lt Gray Primer, then base coated in my mix of RAL 8000. I lightened the mix with a tad bit of MM Acryl Sand and gently modulated the high points. On my last 1/72 scale build I deliberately kept the colors way light to allow for the scale. I'm attempting the same here. I didn't use my jar of Lifecolor as I need it all for an upcoming 1/35th scale build of this tank. So I mixed my own from MM Acryl Israeli Sand Gray, Field Drab and Armor Sand. G

Hi there G,
looks good, I especially like the DS-tracks. Even on this scale they look as if they have enough detail.
Count me in.
greetings, Richard.

Thanks Wingnut, we store paint by the gallon here in the southwest. Nope Carl, couldn't stand it any longer. Thanks for the comments. Richard-This is one fine little kit. It and the PzIV i built previously are superb models. I wish this one had spare likns for the hull armor. I'm actually going to call this complete as the only thing I added was an oil wash on the tracks after these photos. I detail painted everything in acrylic, then did a pin wash with MM Enamel Grunbraun darkened with burnt umber oil. It brought out the color modulation so I decided to leave well enough alone. Here's my only other 1/72 scale build, it's a Pz Iv from the 1st Panzer Division in Italy. I'll create a desert base for the Pz III that is similar. G

Thanks guys. I always feel these itty bitty panzers will get lost on the shelf. I took a cheap plaque, stained and varnished it and got to work with a bit of DAS clay. This took a week to dry well as the weather here has been cold and rainy. Some earth tone acrylics, model railroad scenery and there you have it, sPzAbt 501 in Tunisia. G

Nice little base for this one G, should help it avoid getting lost in the desert.
