Greetings to everyone! I found my way to this corner of the internet while I was playing with the Stash Manager tool. Pretty sure it's the traditional story. Boy builds models, boy meets girl, boy goes to college, boy gets real job...probably the only difference is, is that I didn't lose all my models in all of that. Somewhere along the way I had the where with all to put them in a storage locker for nearly a decade. When I finally got married and bought a house (my grandparent's house) I finally rescued my stuff from long term storage. That was a day better than any Christmas I ever had! I've been driving tractor-trailers for the past 15 years, dabbling in a great many things in that career line, and now find myself with three kids (11, 2 & 9 mos) and the lifestyle of being over-the-road wasn't meshing so well with obligations I had here at home anymore. So while I putz around and see if I can find a Part-Time driving gig, or go back to Instructing at a Tractor-Trailer Driving School I'm hanging around the house watching my kids while my wife (Psych RN) works. She makes more than I do anyways. So if nothing pans out in the next week or two, I will be going on full-on Daddy Daycare mode, since it saves us nearly $1,000 a month (that's for three days a week too - Lordy it's expensive to force people to watch my kids). I had created a mobile "work bench" while I was in my truck consisting of a tackle box and a few models, and now I need to re-assemble my work bench that's firmly placed on non-moving Terra-firma. As the thread title alludes to I am in the States, and my primary building is of Civilian Automotive subjects. I will admit to building a few Naval vessels back in my childhood days, I loved those tiny little planes that came with the aircraft carrier kits...talk about a tool for an endless imagination.

Thanks to everyone for the very warm welcome. So far I've managed to find my work bench in the basement underneath the "junk drawer" it had turned into over the past year or so, some more tiding up and building of another set of shelves for my stash and I think we can actually start putting glue and paint to plastic again.
