I think that everything is ready for paint. I got home early today, took a glass of whiskey and had few hours of bench time. What a great way to start a christmas holiday. All sub-assemblies I'm planning doing a dunkelgelb base colored vehicle with green camouflage and heavily chipped whitewash. I think that would look cool.

Hi there Kaktus,
I'm going to join too. Always loved this half tracked workhorse. If your painting skills are as good as your build qualities, we're in for a treat!
greetings, Richard.

This modelling year started a bit frustrating way. Got everything primed and then noticed that there is some bad dimensional problems. At first (and easiest), drive sprocet axle is a way too wide and drive sprocets will not line up with the rest of the boogies. Second, that axle is too close to the cab and tracks will hit to step rails. I decided to cut that axle off and relocate it a few millimeters away from the cab. I read that others have had these problems too so the problem is in the kit parts. Also the drive sprocets teeth are too short or sprocets inner diameter is too wide and tracks don't fit straight. Same problem occur with friuls and kit magic tracks. After cutting and sandig the sprocet. You could also trim guide horns on the inner side of the track. Everything in place and ready to move on. Thankfully I noticed these problems at this stage.

Looks like you have it under control. A glass of whiskey really helps... maybe two? Looking forward to your next update...

Good catch on those dimensional issues Kaktus! Shame that the kit is poorly designed in that area...but then if all kits were perfect there wouldn't be any challenge in building them.

A Dragon kit with fit and crap instructions? I am surprised...NOT. Nice work though Jukka I have the kit in 1.72nd so I'm making some notes. You've put some work into this kit and its paying off keep it up bud.

I am not sure which I like better... the beer or the model. At least I am being honest... love beer too! Glad you got it fixed... love the camo job!

It became clear a long time ago that Dragon NEVER tests out their instructions or builds prior to release...they just don't care for whatever reason about that particular aspect. They, at times, will correct problems by releasing a slightly different variant kit with fixes but very rarely do they ever go back and fix a previous kit's issues. Nice progress on the camo, looks like you've found the perfect motivation!

Thank you so much guys! I chose that whitewashed vehicle because it gives a lot more depth for weathering. Fresh mud splashes for driving muddy russian roads etc..

WW combo with the green and DY will provide a lot of opportunity in the weathering stages for sure. Looking forward to it!
