Hey Boots, I really can't say enough about this kit. Expensive yes, but so many ways it can be tackled. I'm actually thinking of getting another one, just for the stash. If you haven't, check out the link to the 'large barge' a few posts back. Now I've gotta get me one of those !!! Just have to convince Michael Fitchen to do a run!

Evening all, a productive 24 hours at my end, I decided to work on the cargo load with some boxes for one of the pallets (maybe have two pallets with boxes). So using some inspiration from FichtenFoo’s builds, I set about designing some boxes, using MS publisher and some free download fonts I came up with this. Final Artwork Printed onto some medium thickness envelopes with double sided tape applied to the flaps for the cardboard colour and then cut out. Build-up. A little work needed here to glue down each box nice a neatly, and then a wrap-around of some ‘cling film’ and some straps. Well folks, that’s all for tonight, hopefully some resin bashing at the weekend. Chris.

Nice cargo there fella - nice to see H&W makin' it into the future This is rapidly turnin' into a jaw-dropper Chris Well they have lasted this long, so here is hoping they are about in some form or another for many more years to come, although no shipbuilding for a long time, plenty of rig refurbishments and huge wind turbines being assembled at the minute though. My father was a welder at H&W and I grew up under the shadow of Samson & Goliath, so for some strange reason it seemed appropriate when working out the branding, although I don't actually know what's in the boxes !!!! Thanks for the compliment, very much appreciated. Have a good weekend. Chris.

This is so cool it hurts, loving it! Pleased to see you picked up the deckhands set, I have Remora but not the guys, keen to see you turn your skills to them. As for the pallet load, so good, excellent. I always had visions that if I built mine it would need to be a real 'gypsy caravan', you are providing excellent inspiration!

Luigi. - Thanks got the cling film idea from Industria Mechanika’s FichenFoo, loads of great inspiration from his builds.
Mence - ‘gypsy caravan’ it certainly is. There is just so much scope with this kit to go mad, my problem will be knowing when to stop !!. the deck hands set is real nice, I have also ordered some more of his figures for this build, but I will leave letting my plans out of the bag until they arrive !
Leon, Sam & Bill - thanks very much for dropping by and your kind comments, very much appreciated.
Well, time for an update. Been busy at work and with family but am keeping at it. Not much progress on Remora herself, but working on the load which is great fun.
Side view showing some of the load.
This is a motor from a household blender that went south this evening. I am always on the lookout for ‘bits & bobs’ I quickly stripped it down and found this gem. So I knocked up a basic frame and "ba-bam", a nice little addition to Remora’s load.
Real sweet detail here for next to no effort.
I also added a new flue (a RB muzzle from a 155mm WW2 gun), and the EOD robot arm from Bronco’s Buffalo. This is still a work in progress, and will be a lifting arm. Key the my planned diorama, is a chemical barrel which will be in a cargo net being lowered down to ground level.
Some more of the load, Meng ‘water cooler’ bottles
All the best,
Chris.

I love the motor armature! It's the wooden frame which really sets it off.

Thanks guys for all stopping by and your kind comments. been up to my eyes in work for past few weeks, so no real benchtime. I have however made a start on the base, another fine example of JonP (Progressive Engineering)great work. a laser cut acrylic base with 10mm dia acrylic rod to mount Remora on. Hopefully, some more meaningful work over the next week. Chris.

Good ol' Jon eh? He's a skilful guy.....this is lookin' ace and the Remora is right at home! Yea, Jon always comes up trumps, he can also do soem PE stuff, going to have to give that a go soon enough !! Slight digression from Remora, but worth sharing I hope, he also cut me some mdf and more acrylic for my eldest daughters school project....to build a church. Not a bad effort for a 12 year old, at least now she can work here way around a scale ruller ! Chris,
