1/6 Honda Monkey but different :-)

My new build the 1/6 Monkey from Tamiya.

At first I wanted to build this one straight out off the box but.............. I cant do it
The things are done at this moment such as removing mold lines and some work with putty and the idea is to set this one in a little diorama/vignette.







I want to use this figure (a cheap recast) standing in front of a wall with graffiti and off course the Monkey

WOW....i remember seein my neighbor down the street with a gold colored one just like that when i was a young-un. I wanted one so bad, but we were dirt poor and i instead got a hand-me-down bike from my sister........D'oh

Should be a fun project fella!

I have some idea where I`m going to with this model and could be different and fun off course
The first changes are made a have made some new schock absurvers on the lathe today, Maybe tomorrow a small update.

I have made some new dampers on the lathe and a new saddle, don't know if I going to use the saddle for sure

Today was a nice day for airbrushing the Monkey, window widi open and using the Aclad paint for the metal parts.

Used Aclad colors,
Chroom
Aluminum
Polished aluminum
Steel

Tamiya,
X18 satin black
? Red

Valejo,
White

I have placed some of the parts on the frame today and made a steer for the Monkey.
One funny thing in the kit are three exhausts and none will fit anymore... strange

Quite a mystery there on the exhausts Ron but you're whipping this one into shape.

LOL not really a mystery after I have lowered the bike a little now the original exhaust made contact with the ground but I have all ready made a new one that's need some putty and paint.
Also I started all ready the figure and wondering how its turned out next to the bike LOL

I have almost finished the base, al the figures on the wall`s are hand painted and looks nice with everything in place

HELL YEAH!!! My red fluffy fella named "Garfield" (RIP, my friend) would be proud of that self portrait. And yes, the bike and the girl looks good as well. But the girl a little bit more.

Now you just have to add a tiny bit of "Banksy" there...

Lucas I take a look on the URL to see what you mean about Banksy but don't know how to integrate this on this dio?

Banksy is a true legend. His murals are mostly political ones (kissing "Bobbies", The naked Vietnam girl surrounded by Ronald McDonald and Mickey Mouse etc.). Its of course your dio, and your rules.
