It's officially Christmas holiday time in the Plunk household so what better way to celebrate than to build something a little different? This year's chosen victim is Moebius' kit #915 Battlestar Galactica from the modern TV series. The scale (according to the box, Sci Fi scales are always a little weird IMHO) is 1:4105 so not too big or too small. Has about 70 parts and is a Skill Level 3 kit...so I should be able to handle it...I think!

loved that show, the new and the old. That is a pretty exact scale for something that never actually existed.

Thanks gents for the interest! I've started in on this one today and while not a lot of parts, there's a lot of time needed for parts fit checks, flash removal, and patience while holding parts as the glue sets up! Not the same at all as an armor build that's for sure. loved that show, the new and the old. That is a pretty exact scale for something that never actually existed. I hear you there Dennis, I've no idea how they arrive at these types of 'scales' for Sci Fi kits to be honest! I think what Moebius did is they produced 1:32 scale fighters (Cylon Raider, Vipers, etc.) which make sense as you have human-figure scales to use to create those from the show and set mock-ups and then used that as the basis for the Galactica's scale vs. working off 'real' dimensions.

Gary, can you please go over to Bill's place?!?!?!? I can't think of somebody else who lives closer to him. He built a ship, a Russian tank with German marks, and he is planning a wingy build. Now this Sci-fi!!! I think he is not OK… check on him for us OK buddy?
Bill- Saw an update on FB… looking good. It will probably be done by time I return home in a week. LOL
