What the heck did they do to that poor T-55?
From what I can gather so far, they threw a very large bucket of cash at it,
With most of the money going to Israel, the extra armour - Israeli RAFAEL reactive armour tiles, smoke cans are Israeli, the main gun is a British 105mm Royal Ordnance L7 (I think), with thermal jacket, and the tracks are Yugoslav M84 (a T-72 copy job)
I prefer the more traditional T-55 look, but this upgrade looks kinda cool, and from what I can gather there is only one resin conversion to do this upgrade, and it's junk and hard to get ('junk' is probably a harsh term lol)
How about this for the more traditional T-55 look,

I knew it, I'm currently building a T-62 from the same invasion But as I was telling Paul in his T-55 thread, I prefer african T-54/55, they tend to have interesting addons

I'm very close to the Lincs border, in between Newark and Lincoln, Newark Showground is just down the road from me, where they hold all the international antiques fairs and trade fairs, I have only ever been to one model show in my entire life and that was at Southwell racecourse (on the way to Nottingham), about 15 years ago, I think that's the one that is classed as Newark Model Show, even though it's at Southwell, just down the road.
They should start holding big model shows at Newark Showground, it's a huge setup, has all the display halls, kinda Euro Militaire hits Newark.
That was a very long winded way of saying - no, I don't really go to model shows tbh.

I found the picture while doing some 'research' into the British 105mm L7, and thought to myself "hmm, maybe Bullardino would like that picture"
The story goes - During the Hungarian uprising, a T-54 was driven onto British Embassy grounds, and staff from the embassy were able to inspect the Soviet 100mm gun and front armour plate, with of course 'staff' being a cover for Military Intelligence people, this then lead to the British starting work on a new tank gun which became the 105mm L7, which then became the most widely used tank gun of the modern era, even the Americans fitted it to early Abrams (I think, not sure)
The British 105mm L7 even ended up getting retro fitted back onto T-54's/ 55's by Israel (Tiran 4, Tiran 5), captured T-54/55's
Moral of the story (if it's true, lol) - Don't drive your T-54 onto British Embassy grounds.

LOL, I suppose T-54/55 are quite cheap nowadays. You can get even a T-72 for a reasonable price

Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but for me personally, I just don't feel like I 'fit' there anymore, hell, If I'm being honest, I don't think I ever did, sometimes it just feels like a closed club, plus there are far too many silly arguments about things that really don't matter that much.
But I shouldn't complain, I had a lot of fun there years ago in the Russian forum, and do still go and view the unboxing vids, because I'm a sucker for pretty plastic.
