Hello,

Looking for a new home, after leaving that 'other' site, that shall remain nameless, looking to just have some fun with plastic (that sounds kinda odd, should maybe change it)

I can only echo what the fellas have said, this IS the fun forum for modelers. Simple rule as T has said, but basically fun with plastic is the order of the day.

Certainly is a good place for some crazy modelling nonsense, and off all other kinds !.

The MSC is a super place, very relaxed and focuses on the basic principle of having fun.

I haven't had much time for plastic bashing of late, but every time I drop by it is like meeting up with an old friend.

I've been having a look round, and I like the way you have everything grouped up, organized is probably a better word, and I just noticed that you have a separate section for the Russian T's, so now I'm in heaven.

And I can find things that I'm looking for,..quickly,...bliss.

We count rivets, count more rivets and then check if they are the right type of rivet.

We are deadly serious modellers with no space or time for this 'nonsense' you refer too By the way, did I tell you we count rivets?


Heh heh heh! Bleedin Rivet counting! There's i)enjoying a great hobby and ii)being so serious about the whole thing that it becomes more like a day at work doing a job that gives you no pleasure

You'll love it here buddy - these are the best bunch of guys I know and feel genuinely privileged being able to call these lads friends

I'm not sure what site you came from - I used to use mainly FSM and MilMod. I still drop by FSM to have a look at the blogs etc and post the occasional build update on MilMod as some of my UK buddies are on there but after discovering this place it's so much better, no 'clique' type feels and lots of very knowledgeable guys who know their stuff!

It seems that a lot of the guys who I used to chat with on my old forums have all flocked onto here so you've made a wise decision coming over to MSC!

What was the 'other site', if I may be so bold??? I see you are UK based - I bet it was MilMod? Of course nothing wrong with it but it's nice to see where newbies on here have come from!

I used to use three sites and spent more time blogging and downloading photos onto them so I just do my main blogging on here and pop an occasional build update on MilMod (Military Modeller) and as I'm UK based like you I know a lot of the guys on there anyhow so I have to 'keep up appearances'!

FSM is good for a read - I love looking at other modeller's blogging's

Enjoy your stay - you'll be hooked om MSC now! Have you started any blogs going or have any in the pipeline?

Ok, I relent(giggle)

The 'other' site was Armorama, I kinda liked the format on there, it was good for doing crazy nonsense build logs/blogs, plus there were some very good scratch builders doing stuff on there, but it seems heavily focused on campaigns now, nothing wrong with that, but I'm just not interested in campaigns, takes too long to pull out useful info.

I'm just a big fan of build logs/blogs, watching people get themselves into a mess, and then watching how they get themselves out of that mess, getting it back to looking pretty, in terms of construction, not painting, the painting stage holds very little interest to me, I regard it as 'personal preference'

I have never had any interest in MilMod or FineScale, I avoid sites that are linked to Military Modelling Mags like the plague, I have no interest in what I tend to term as 'Marketing Modelling'.

I'm from the UK, I'm on the Nottingham/Lincolnshire border.

I use the tag 'Kharkov' simply because it's a gamer tag that I have used for years, but no, I don't play WoT (lol)

I have a very strong interest in T-54/55's, it's just a damn shame that we still only have one viable kit to build them with, and it's an old kit now, needs lots of work.

I never really visited Armorama - I didn't find it a very 'user friendly' site and I hate all them adverts everywhere!
