Thanks chaps Ive been waiting ages to start this kit I'm sure Beast should be posting up his kitty soon
Hey John yea that's 1of the reasons for doing this kit the road wheels have taken for spares but others have said they were taken off due to muddy conditions outside Berlin I'm leaning towards the spare parts idea
An update in bound when I get in later from a trip too London town
Ok guys, this is the cat i'm doing, it's Dragon's Panther G with zimmerit.
It'll be mostly OOB apart from a few Eduard photo etch bits and pieces. Not decided on the actual camo scheme yet but it'll be an ambush type from one of the four brilliant options you get with the kit.
Looking forward to this..............let the games begin!
Ok, managed to make a start today, plain sailing so far and impressed with the quality and detail of the parts. Rear panel is just in place for test purposes as the lower hull looked like there was some bendy warpage going on lol but thankfully everything fits together almost perfectly. Onwards and upwards! Stuart.
T Quick man the doors still open grab a seat i think there is a few around here somewhere
Imatanker thanks for the comment much appreciated
Robbo sure is buddy you aint wrong there
Deano Thanks fella
Leon there is a few to do i say do the wheels when ya feel motivated always works for me ;0 lol
Boss glad ya here buddy i think there is a seat next to T grab while there still available
Stuart great start fella these kits go together really well shame all of DML kits aint the same i had that warpage look to mine too the fan units straiten it out once installed keep going fella shes lookin like a stunner
Right i managed to get some bench time in today the wheels are finished and had some success at making some hubs for the missing outer road wheels i sanded them down using a cordless drill there not 100% correct but will do the job once painted and weathered im now texturing up the rear panel and making some front fenders from Alu foil as these are really battered as in the ref pics i will post these up when finished......
Lookin real good Dan. I've a "wheelie" good time ahead with my rims lol, that'll be the next task! I'm going for an almost factory fresh, just of the rail road cars at the front look with mine so no bent or scraped panels. Hoping it'll show a good contrast between our two panzers.
Andy same here buddy love it too this is my 3rd Panther i could build them all day lol
Stuart Thanks buddy im really liking your factory fresh idea i think the Zimm alone will set them apart now get on with them damn wheels
A quick question for anyone on here that knows the Panther im building was issued with a crew heater would the heater be in board or out board my ref photos are not that detailed so i cant see anything different if anyone can help me on this i would be a happy chap
Imatanker yes i had issues last night but with some cutting and sanding i got them to fit the best i can there is a certain way for them to go so working out right to left fans before gluing really helps thanks for the heads up buddy
