The aim is for a full conversion to something similar to these pics............ FOR DISCUSSION PURPOSES ONLY!! Work has begun and the OOB R1 don`t look nuffin` like the pic now!!!!!! As you can see the rear cowl is completely re-vamped and all the clutter underneath removed, the swing arm has been modified to keep it minimal (as you notice in the ref pics)................this don`t look much but the hours that have gone into measuring/chopping/filling/smoothing etc is quite considerable..................and theres a shed load more to do yet, the frame has also been chopped and redesigned!!! The ride height is different so the rear shock needs to be adjusted accordingly........... Ok fellas thats the state of play at the mo.................i`m hoping that this will keep me pre-occupied until the Kawasaki is ready to go..............thats gonna be displayed totally open to show orfe the detailing.................these two projects arn`t gonna be rushed so updates may be a bit slow in coming and i`d rather go out with a BANG than a PFFFFFT if i decide to hang up me `Boots` after these!! Cheers guys.

Alright Boots. I wondered where you'd gone. I know how you feel about loss of enthusiasm I've been suffering the same thing..Great to see you have a re-org plan. I love these modified street fighters.. I bet the cops do too.. haha. What's the bike in your avatar? I'll have a front seat as I plan to do a custom bike this year too. Great start looking good what you've got done so far. Its amazing sometimes you spend hours but it appears like you've hardly done anything but sometimes that's the case. With me it is anyway Nice bike jig too very snazzy Jaymes

BOOTS!! Glad to see you back in the game...now, Stay! Sucks when the mojo or any number of other things that come up to hamper the efforts of the modeller! We are here, you know we are , so whether its build or just acting like a vagrant and hanging around these parts, you sit your arse in the chair and be here!! Feeble attempt for a smile out of ya!! on to the build part...ok, if you are going to try and jump-start the mojo, you are definably going BIG!!! Not one bike but two? Bling and conversion S**T too? You must be drinking that funny brown liquid they make over ion the Emerald Isle!!! That conversion is Sick brotha'! Loving the Red but I think the gold is kickin'!! Both should turn out to your usual high standards for sure...and I am looking forward to it!! Bring it on!!

Hi Boots, very sorry to hear you got some 'stuff' going on mate, think we all get it from time to time. Fingers crossed you can sort it.
On the up side, fantastic to see you back with some excellent projects on the bench! Don't worry about slow progress and possibly infrequent updates fella, we're with ya and ready when you are.

Hiya Boots, nice to hear from you my friend I'm both sorry and glad to read your post. I hope life will be better to you in 2014 And the best thing about MSC is you can come and go as you want, open house sorta thing The the bikes will be great for the mojo, I don't know about you but I struggle to build, photo and post when the mojo is low, so if you're the same as me, just give us the highlights until your back firing on a four buddy

Guys..........firstly thanks very much for the support, it really means a great deal and hopefully i can get back in the saddle properly as soon as............. `T`...........yeah the red does look nice and could possibly play a part in the final finish, however, i do agree about the Gold tho Andy........ta buddy, the personal issues are more of a distraction than a mojo loss, i`m keen enough but it`s a struggle with finances more than anything!!! Prof....cheers fella, one of the reasons for going slow is too make these last , got tons of ideas for this one tho Robbo........thx matey, the `Saki` is a beautiful bike i gotta say..........should scrub up pretty good with the detail set fella Steve.......cheers mucka, just sitting contemplating how the ferk i`m gonna rig up the twin spots for the front end.................that must be a good sign HUH!! Leon............thx me `ol mate and glad you approve Right.........hoping to do a bit this afternoon, i`ve just been out into the garage and fired up my Suzuki Bandit so that has got the juices flowing somewhat...............just wish it was MOT`d and taxed then i could have gorne for a spin on it Thanks again fellas.............you`re a smashing top bunch

Thanks Bill............yeah these should tide me over for a little while buddy Dicky..........thank ya kindly fella , yeah the `Saki` should be good fun and a nice challenge (especially the wiring loom ), the Top Studio set is really nice, they do 2 types but i`ve chosen the Big Ed equivalent . As for the streetfighter..........well that has started a fight already!!!!!!! , spent 2 hrs spraying the wheels and another 2hrs re-stripping them!!!...............the paint messed me about coz it didn`t come out as planned........bastard!!!, maybe i`ve returned a bit premature

Thanx Jeff.......good to have ya tagging along fella Believe it or not i have spent a good few hours doing stuff that is really not worth showing at the mo (did say it was gonna be slow......should pick up pace as we go along tho!! ............mostly sanding/filling/smoothing (ya get the jist!!) and more of the same Also i`m a bit apprehensive about using Photobucket at the mo..............it stitched me right up the other night with a ferkin` browser hijack ............sneaked in the backdoor via a rogue `Java` update!!!!!.............soon sent that packin` but it took a little while I`ll see if i can stick a pic up soon............i warn ya...........she`s a bit of a mess at the mo!!

Ok.....here ya go, tain`t pretty Like i said lots of sanding etc.............some deco work on the tank which will be picked out at a later stage in another `er....colour .................i used some 020 rod (love the stuff!! ) and some 0.5mm sheet to hide a rather glaring seam line!!, although it was as smooth as Dickys pate it was still very visible............so i hid it!! The rod was then sanded flat at the base of the tank but allowed to retain it`s roundness at the top!! A bit of a trim orfe on the undercrackers.......these need to be rubbed down more yet tho More shaping etc on the tail cone!! Most of the bits are now cut orfe and she is nicely thinned down in the rear.......much like my good self A closer look at the tank! And a couple of shots of the part built engine in place........... I need the engine in briefly as i need to adjust the exhuast length down somewhat!!.............i was gonna run it up under the seat and poke her out the back but shaping the pipework length will be a ferkin` mare...........so i`m gonna got short and stumpy custom....k!! Cheers fellas

Boots, first of all,it's really good to see you back amongst us,and tackling a project like this beauty!!!!!I have a thought with regard the zorst box if I may... See on this one where the two boxes are under the tail? Could you maybe manufacture one box that is a similar shape to your bike tail, but 'slimline' in depth?
