`Streetfighter` R1........Finished (`err i think!!)

Frame primed, front fender base coated, rear tail base coated, handle bars done (just need to do the grips), dials done (needs wiring yet).............the engine has also been re-touched but it`s hidden at the mo!!

NOW I`VE RUN OUT OF ONE OF THE COLOURS I NEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!











The lower cowl has also had a coat of silver as a base coat for the next stage!

This will slow down a tad as i need to give at least 24-48 hrs settling time on the paint...........masking Alclads can be a tad risky at times so i wanna give it plenty of time!!..............the Tam green should be ok when masking!!

Whoooper Dicky, nearly missed ya then muckera , cheers me `ol mate.....yeah i`m quite plesaed with how things have shaped up so far and i was fortunate enough to have just enough spare dial decs to do the dials......shame i didn`t have 3 white but Black adds a bit of interest i `spose ...............the next few stages are gonna be a bit of a challenge, mundane cutting and stuff and hoping tape don`t affect paint!!!...........it`s a case of `Reverse Psychology`......

Damn, man - this looks great! I would think that finishing one of these properly would be considerably harder than a lot of other modeling disciplines.

Hey Dupes and thanks very much bro..

They are a challenge i have to say.......aprox 60-70% of the bike build have to be painted as you go and sometimes in more than one colour, the beauty of this one is it is all purely artistic licence!!
The trickey side is getting everything symetrical as you alter the shape of the bike during conversion stages...........the same applies with doing customed cars!!, adjust one thing and the whole laborious process of adjusting 10 other things begins!!

A lot of it is time and patience fella...........i probably avaerage 300+hrs on a bike build ...maybe more!!

Dickey............the GW`s were ferkin` uge!!, a mate of mine had one of the early ones and he took all the panels orfe it......it looked quite good and ferkin` lovely to be on the back of!!..............mind you....the weight of my little 600 Bandit i could ferkin` do with it as well

Awesome work Boots glad you did not shelve this project your doing mighty fine work well in my eyes anyway you have inspired me to try a street fighter build dont know when i can start it as im booked up all this year with builds i need to retire lol

Dan..........thanks very much buddy , these are terrific fun albeit they do take a bit of time, thats because there are no rules , your imagination dictates the build and paint Dan.............i`m gonna do another of these after the ZX-RR build, that will take me quite a while to do as the AM set is quite intense.........but the ferkin` instuctions arn`t!!!, the build will involve working from 3 different sets of instructions!!!!, the kit ones, the Detail set ones and the AM suspension set!!!.....

If ever ya fancy going with a Streetfighter build i`ll run alongside ya with one ...........i`ve got loads of pics/reference stuff etc........maybe towards the end of the year huh!!...........i`m toying with a bad boy `single` swingarm on the next one

Couldn`t do much with this today so i did the most mundane job i know and thats putting the pinstripe decs on a set of GP wheels.......oh and built a new wheel rack ................while the paint is curing on the `Steetie` i thought i would do a couple of prep bits on the ZX-RR, i`ve scrubbed the seam off of both tyres and sorted the two piece tank, fender, undercowl etc so i don`t have to worry about them when i start the `Saki` build........

The decs are still a bit bubbly at the mo and are being a real PITA i gotta say..........i`m hoping 4 gallon of Sol will do the trick over night!!

Does the trick and yes you can still fit both wheels on it with the tyres fitted!!

Gary, Jeff, Lui, Prof and Dicky..........thanks fellas, it was a bit of a nonsensical U/D really but i`m at a bit of a stumbling block at the mo............need to start putting this into some sort of paint order!!! , i probably won`t get much of this done till the weekend. In the meantime i`m keeping things moving on the other bike................just debating whether to start a full blown blog on the `Saki` and run it alongside this one............the `Saki` is gonna be quite an extensive build for me so swapping `tween the two ain`t gonna be a problem as such...............decisions, decisions ??

I keep getting tempted with the other bike now ............i keep avoiding it coz it looks ferkin` scary , ferkin` destructions for the Detail set are about as much use as an ashtray on a `er.....motorbike!!!

Cheers mate.............the prob with the instructions is the fact they are all coloured pics of the ferkin` said item assembled and fixed in place....................i would have liked to have had something vaguely resembling build sequence somewhere in between that!!! ............it`s not all like that...........about 25% are ok(ish)!!

As for the wiring loom/harness...........they use this crazy coloured lettering system..............then miss half the letters out at the crucial assembly points!!

As for going thru the main build sequence..............i bought a new pack of highlighter pens just for the occasion
