OK, well here's some of my recent buys this month.... Had this delivery from HLJ a few weeks back. More helo's to add to the Braille collection. Also a UAV. A very small UAV. How small? This is the box for the kit. Yes, that is a normal sized modelling knife, not a novelty jumbo sized one. And to prove it.... Here is the kit. The freaking pour stubs have more resin than the damn airplane!!! Should be fun, if I don't lose the whole thing in the carpet first.... The Cyber Hobby (Dragon) Sea King (the one at the back in the first pic) is exquisite, with absolutely beautiful detail. Can't believe I haven't picked up one of these before! You also get two sets of blades, one drooped for on the ground, and one bent upwards if you want to do one in flight. In addition, you get the option to have the blades folded. Lovely! This came on the same day as that lot above! Lots of 1/35 goodness! Sweet...... Then, about a week ago, I got these. The F-35 decals are a replacement set which I wasn't expecting. Apparently the original ones I got only had 4 roundels instead of 6. I would have expected they would have just done an addendum of two extra roundels, but instead they reprinted the whole sheet and it turned up on my doorstep! Not complaining there!! Also, Southern Sky recently released the decals for the Aussie MRH-90, known locally as the Taipan (named after an Aussie snake). I only bought the Revell kit a month or so ago, with thoughts of how to do an Aussie version. Then these came out. Awesomesauce!! Tellin' ya, pretty much anything looks good in Auscam..... Finally, today this dirty great big box turns up! Inside was these goodies..... As usual, HLJ came to the party with more awesome deals. The two F-5 kits were a little over $30 each, and I picked up the Alpha Jet and the Hawk for around $20 each during one of HLJ's great sales. The Airfix Tiger Moth (another of their gorgeous new tool kits) was the grand total of about 6 bucks!! The Hawk has Aussie decals, so that solves the markings for that one! The Alpha Jet has some very interesting markings including a gloss black RAF version and a three tone camo job which is (I think) a Canadian Aggressor aircraft owned by a civilian contractor. Nice! So there you go! My collections for the month. Sorry to bore the pants off you armour modellers!! Cheers, Sam

Hey Dupes, Yeah, it's a nice looking little kit, not sure what the build quality is like as the Kinetic kits can be a bit hit and miss at times. Still, I have always liked the Alpha Jet, and the Canadian Aggressor is the bees knees! Cheers, Sam

Russ - I think we need more to the story - I'm assuming that she found it under your pillow (where you like to keep it when you sleep so as to dream about Shermans by osmosis) and was trying to send you a message by leaving it out on the counter? Either that, or she bought it for you. I'm laying even odds either way.

She cruised into the HobbyTown not far from where she works, and asked the guy if he's seen Fury, and if they had any Tigers like that one. Apparently, after poking around, he said no, and she's found the Sherman, asked him if it was a good kit. Fortunately the dude know what was in the box, and based on the only Tiger they had in stock, said the Sherman was far and away the best pick. So I crawled in the back door last night around 7, and there it was. How cool is that? And I have been known to sleep with Son Of Sherman on the nightstand, but if I put it under the pillow, the cover pokes me. Maybe I should pick up a soft-cover edition..... So, I peeked, and I have to say the parts are exquisite. Talk about chuffed, the final drive has the bolt holes up the sides, just freakin' awesome!

Too busy to cut plastic lately with work and family commitments. So I went into a LHS hoping to pick up a tamiya 1/35 Simca for a quick and dirty OOB fun build. So of course I walk out with this. It was 22 bucks, how could I leave it? Well at least the Simca comes with Luftwaffe markings so maybe I'll still pick one up. Cheers #57.

I am wrapping my up in the next few days. I had a WIP at the other place but I didnt move it over. The cockpit is on of the best I've seen OOB, so naturally I replaced it with the CMK set. Lol but I found it at something crazy like $14. You'll enjoy that build.

Show me yours, I'll show you mine...... Stop it!!!! This finally arrived yesterday, traded for a Tamiya Citroen which I bought cheap a couple of years ago..... It's a real hodge-podge of parts, but has the AFV Club indie tracks, worth the whole thing, plus some other goodies. Wheels are AFV Club, was hoping for Academy like the rest of the kit, and have very soft detail. I'll be using this thing for parts anyway, really just wanted the tracks. Schwing!

And the home team scores again! From BC Shavers and Hobbies (interesting name, not a shaver in the place): And earlier, big haul out of Skyway Model Shop in Seattle: The little baggie in the bottom pic with the resin parts is a bunch of Sherman extras, best parts are a couple of spare HVSS road wheels. There's a couple of parts in there I have no idea what they are, need to get my "modeling glasses" and take a close look, but for $5, it was a no-brainer. The M-51 was debatable until I figured the exchange rate, and I can always use another Sherman....

I'm very tempting........................... :-P For now I've totally got my hands too full with other builds to even contemplate this one...but yeah I think I will wait for some aftermarket - as massive as it is I think some G-Factor legs will probably be in order at a minimum.

Haven't had a lot of time for building, but I've still managed to find time for buying. Currently have a Badger 105 that I'm relatively happy with for detail work, but was looking for a single action to use when I needed really consistent lines or coverage. Haven't had a chance to spray with it yet, but the build quality is through the roof compared to the badger. The Sherman was unexpected but I have a rule that if I run into a tasca copy shipped for less then $50 shipped it's coming home with me. It seems like getting these in Canada for less then $80 all in is becoming more and more difficult to score. I love the box art scheme so I'll probably go with that. Cheers #57
