Noll, that should be able to take all the knocks you can give it Dude, as long as you don't care about the paint job Doogs, two nice choices there. I like the Stars and Stripes on the T-6

Had two long-awaited stash additions show up yesterday! Couple of great additions there Doogs! What is your opinion on the Texan now you have it in your hands? Worth the investment? Haven't heard that much about it TBH, and haven't seen one in the flesh yet... I love the "Engrish" on the front of the box too! "The crew are not include" Cheers, Sam

Couple of great additions there Doogs! What is your opinion on the Texan now you have it in your hands? Worth the investment? Haven't heard that much about it TBH, and haven't seen one in the flesh yet... In my opinion, it's a very nice kit from a kitmaker that's getting better with every release. Kitty Hawk's first few releases (F-94, F-35B and F-35A) were a bit rocky in places. The Jaguar was a huge step forward, but still problematic in a few areas (cockpit, "open every panel" obsession). I reviewed their MiG-25 recently, and it's legitimately impressive. The Texan looks to be similar to the MiG-25 in terms of quality. Very delicate detailing, a mix of recessed and raised rivets...I can't speak to the fit yet, but if it's half as good as the detailing things should e pretty awesome. The only two nits I have - the only canopy provided is the late AT-6G style, missing the mid-framing on the side glass, and almost all of the markings are modern resto-jobs. You can see the differences in canopy style here: It's a little thing, but once it's been seen it can't be unseen. Here's a link to a review: forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/2086-132-t-6-texan/

I apologies Dicky. My Mom always told me punctuation was important and I guess She was right. I thought you were waiting for a feckin' dickie bird and not a coffee. Cream and sugar with that?

Craig- Great addition! I regret selling mine a year ago or two so I could use money to buy some WWII relics. It was taking up too much space in the stash. LOL Guys- Post Christmas shopping spree using gift money has officially ended... This was on sale for only $22 at Hobby Town USA with $5 off coupon. My first Russian armor... Hooked to Young Miniatures... Soviet weapons will be used for dioramas abandoned as usual. I don't think I posted this earlier... my first submarine purchase. One thing I noticed... waste of space... idiots. And I like to collect WWII military and stuff... Guess I have to wait until next Christmas for another shopping spree...

How much did you pay for the MiniArt set with the Maxim MG? Raz- I think it was $15 from one of our sponsors Last Cavalry. Already worked on one of the MGs... nice details but complicated to build. I can post pic if you wish... Gary- Thanks bro!

Oh yeah, would be nice to have a direct comparison with the new ICM Maxim. That one costs 7,99 € here. Included in a set with some other weapons could be an option for further projects - if the quality is right. The ICM kit goes together verywell and has sharp detail. So sharp that it consists of 19 parts (including ammo box and ammo).

It had an option of two different barrels... Helmet and mug came from other set... Hope this helps...

Jep, that helps a lot! Differences I can see so far: >lower detail (but good enough!) >other ammo boxes (the ones from ICM are more slim) >different part setting in the frame. So for example the towing bar consists of one part here, ICM has three, was a bit tricky. Two barrels, thats nice. Whats the story?

I forgot to mention that I removed the towing bar... it takes up too much base on my Pz IIIK diorama base. Two different barrels... one was early version like 1938 and second was later version which has some kind of opening on the top.
