No worries - this one was on the bench with 5 other builds...4 of which are nearing completion. With the little man entering day care today for the first time, I should have no problem hitting number 13 or even 14 by the end of the month!

Thanks Deano! Definitely going to be some more 1/72 stuff coming down the pipeline...a T-34 and 251 will be my next braille victims.

Love that Kilo! I agree with DP, I think you got just the right effect with the streaking.

I really like this. Looks just right. I'm trying to figure out the scale of this. How long is it?

great looking model Dupes, I've built the bronco Akula class sub and really enjoyed it.

Noname - thanks! Scale is 1/350. It's just over 7 inches long. Smudge - didn't realize they made an Akula as well...may have to grab that.

Leon - thanks man! Glad everyone likes the sub...maybe that should be my new thing. Wingy - you're getting smooches from Boyd? I guess I haven't done enough to earn that yet.

Very nice work there on the Kilo Dupes ....played many games of 'Tag' with these in my day! 'Kilo' is the NATO designation, the Russians called them 'Halibut' Class - I kid you not! Paltus, huh? Interesting. It's always a surprise to find out what "they" call their stuff after having seen the NATO designations for so long! "Tag"? What was your job, exactly?

Number nine is in the case. This one, unfortunately, has a whole RAFT of things wrong with it that make it a very respectable "three-footer" but not nearly contest worthy. Note to self - you can't mask over Vallejo Model Air metallics! At least not without a clear coat first (and primer). Second note to self - VMA metallics don't take well to Microset! As in, it pulls the paint right up. So after repainting this entire thing a second time, I just got everything done and called it good. No decal setting solution was a problem. At least I figured it out on this thing and not the 1/32 Wildcat!

Thanks Dicky! Means a lot coming from someone with your talent. I was a Chief Engineer aboard RN Diesel Electric Submarines fella - Oberon and Porpoise class 'sneaky' boats....we spent much of the time being exactly where we shouldn't have been....attempting to take pictures of what we shouldn't have....... Shame there aren't kits available for either of those in 1/350 (at least any I could find). With Airfix, Bronco, and Hobbyboss cranking out subs, though, maybe we get lucky?

Nice work on #9 Dupes, sounds like you learned some good lessons without too much pain, always the best kind of learning experience!

Thanks Bill! Yeah, lessons learned alright. Luckily I was able to get one good angle that didn't show the results of all of my "lessons"! She looks good in the case, anyway.

Strange! I struggled to spray Vallejo metal paints last night on my bust. Did you have any issue? If not, what did you use to thin it? Thanks for the head up about masking.
But your Mustang is looking HOT! Love its teeth!

Andy - make sure that you shake the hell out of those metallics - despite being "Model Air" they're still pretty heavy pigments. I also end up thinning them quite a bit (again, even though they're Model Air and "airbrush ready") because if you don't, they'll gum up your airbrush in a HURRY! Think I probably went 2/3 paint to 1/3 distilled water. It's quite thin that way, and requires multiple coats to completely cover, but sprays muuuuuuch better. Yeah, that scheme is what made me buy that kit. Frickin' sweet, is what it is! Gotta love braille Airfix...none of them are much over ten bucks.

Exactly!!! So I have to shake the crap out of it next time I use it... I added thinner to it and stirred plenty. Yet I couldn't spray it out good. Will try again... thanks for the tip!

Au contraire, mon frere! Number 10, 11, and 12 are all finished...I'm just trying to locate some bases (and waiting for an order of 1/16" clear resin rods to get delivered). Want to find a uniform design that comes in a bunch of different sizes that I can use for all of my in-flight sci fi builds. No luck yet, but I've got a trip to Hobby Lobby planned on Monday. Oh, and number 13 is getting a coat of future in 5...4...3...

Thanks guys!
Cee Bee - it is indeed. I've picked up a bunch of their new kits in 48 and 72...very few complaints from my end! Totally user error on my part for this one.
