The Merkava is a series of Israeli tanks that was developed primariliy by Israel. This was a result of frequent arms embargo on the Jewish State. With this, Israel embarked on the development of a home-designed tank which is specifically designed and streamlined to fit the needs of the Israeli Army. This tank is the brainchild of General Israel Tal. Currently, the Merkava is on its 4th variant already and it has seen action on the conflicts in Lebanon and during the Intifadas. This Merkava 4 build from academy. The kit is moulded in orange/tan plastic and without the anti-slip surfaces. The tank was built modified and enhanced particularly with the addition of the anti slip pattern that was made from sand, hair spray and Bosny lacquer grey primer. Another addition is the scratch-built anti-RPG ball chain curtain on the turret rear overhang. This was made from ball chain that was chopped up, then glued to a stainless steel chain necklace from the ladies' accessories store. The model was finished with tamiya acrylic mixture of khaki and light grey (as advised on the Tamiya Tiran 5 kit) but i modified the mix to include more khaki as modern IDF seems darker than those painted during the time of the Tiran 5. Weathering was done through the use of AK Interactive streaks, grimes, washes and pigments. Here are some photos: Enjoy comrades! cheers! Iking

More nice work, Iking!
Seems very green (at least compared to a lot of Merk pics). What's the paint mix that Tamiya recommends?

Merk's have always had that 'mean' look to them IMHO, you've captured that perfectly here for sure!
