Thats why I used an old spoon for it when I made the "War and peace" dio- just bend it around something thats NOT your fingers. Lucky me, I cut my fingers with a scalpel later. Next time youre smarter.

Great photo T. Marc... keep looking for those shells. They will look very cool piled around the turret like that.

A few should get the idea across for sure!! I think Verlinden has a huge set for short money too...of course you need to paint them rather than dirty them up a bit. I just bought some from RB recently...12 pk. I guess the price is good compared to everywhere at around $9 +small shipping charge. I was to impressed with the shipping time...think it too about 4 days to get to my house from Poland!! Damn, it takes 4 days to ship something to RI...LOL!!!

You guys are killing me. Of course, there's the old tried-and-true Tamiya offering: www.hlj.com/product/tam35173/Milwhich I believe I have one of downstairs somewhere. Need to go dig around in a few Panther kit boxes.

Spent all of my modeling time tonight digging through boxes...I found brass shells for Panzer IVs, Tigers, King Tigers, Sturmtigers, a Sturer Emil, T-34/76s, T-34/85s, and an Su-100.
Then finally I came across a Verlinden box with a rack of 8 spent shells labeled "75 mm". These will have to do! Painting them brass in the morning.

Got them all painted up today - not sure if eight empty rounds constitutes a "pile" but it should add some interest to the base at the very least.

Keeping it coming! Got the assembly line shot from yesterday - three builds getting oil dots followed by chipping. And the Pantherturm with oil dots, chipping, and all the ammo I could find attached to the base:

That's a Mirage TKS in 1/35 (not that you can tell!). Figured I'd hit all three dunkel-builds at the same time.

Oh yeah! It is looking superb weathered! Are those actual .22 cartridges as they look like...
How can you keep your bench FREAKING CLEAN while doing FOUR builds simultaneously? You are truly my HERO! LOL

You know...I hadn't thought to compare those to .22 empties. I will, though - can't be too far off! It's actually about 9 builds, but who's counting?
