With my Airbrush usage blocked (small kid -> only modeling when she sleeps -> keep silent, no compressor), I decided to build a small dio with napoleonic figures. After searching a bit, I found this pair, which gave me the exact idea: I thought, they can be trying to retire after the battle and hide under the bridge, with a few pursuers on the bridge itself. As the pursuers I selected these guys: Kingdom of Naples Navy Guard Officer (1 Bn. of 186 men in 33rd division, Augueraut Corps, primarily used for guard and security tasks) And the polish col. Uminski, commander of the 10th Hussars regiment, Poniatowski Corps. All three figures are top, very fine detailed and nearly no cleanup needed. The dialog on the bridge could look like Pole: Have you seen an injured russian officer? He carries important message, and we are searching for him! Neapolitan: No, colonel. No russians in our sector, all clear! The scene with bridge would be scratched.

Wow! I love figure modeling. Not my era, though - anyway that sounds fun. Out of interest: Who is who on the 1st picture? I suppose the larger the feather, the higher the rank?!

Nope, the injured guy on the ground is the officer. Sword instead of musket, and also much less ammunition and equipment to carry, so less belts around. I used to talk to my granny yesterday, and she told me that according to my family history one of my ancestors fought in the battle of Smolensk as a grenadier officer, and was injured... quite a match to my dio idea!

Thanks! Would try to watch if the time allows - new job starts today German is not a problem, for me the switching between german, english and russian in everyday communication is more of a problem

Its a Russian film, so I guess it should be available in Russian. I cant remember the name of the actor, but he played in the "9th Company" as well as far as I can remember. Thats again the German title of it, the movie is about Soviet army troops in Afghanistan in the 80s.

Napoleonic is as confusing as it is interesting, the Russian chap with the large hat plume is a grenadier if memory serves!.... But they had many uniform changes in a short period of time.
I really should crack on and paint the couple of thousand I have squirreled away!
Can't wait to see these progress
