Well I have to jump around a bit. I don't like having more than one project at a time but I am on a time limit with this and have to dedicate myself to this build. This will be two commission pieces that will be presented at the end of April and I can let you know for whom they are at that time. One is to be built as if on the ground and one in flight. This Eduard offering is the Academy plastic, with all the Eduard resin and PE goodies. I should have some shots up this evening after gathering some more info that I need. Bob

Good morning brother, Count me in for this one indeed! This is gonna be good. I picked up this same kit about a month ago. So, if you don't mind, I'll be taking some notes as you go. Dave

Leon - welcome my friend, a pleasure as always Sam - pull up a chair mate Dave my brother, better get a freaking note pad ready and some high magnification visors. Ok so now I have roughly 15 hours just in the rear avionics bay, there is some real microscopic PE man and some minor mods to make stuff fit. Micro crap, you can barely make the two pieces out on the head of the dime. None of the lovely PE boxes fit, even if you clean the ribs out....it just wont happen. I removed them and replaced with sheet styrene, its recessed enough in the back that it will not interfere with the CP to fuselage join: BAM! Most of the PE finished, just have to get the IP folded and in place after this is painted and detailed: Thankfully one of the two for the client is in the flight config, so with the canopy closed, NONE of this is seen. Going to paint it up and have a detail session and see what it looks like. Bob

Jeeze, hope you're getting paid well!
Also hope you can skip most of this stuff for the in-flight build?

Chris - The PE and the Eduard Resin are abso;utly beautiful. I have never seen such flawless castings.
Dupes - I considered skipping it but all the PE for the open canopy and flight model are intact.
More pics soon gents.

Hi All; So moving right along I had to modify the fuselage to accommodate the C variant sensor in the tail. Before getting the halves together it was time for some more PE work........yes more. I attacked the IP and was able to complete that assembly. After that I jumped over to the exhaust nozzles and resin assemblies. Got them all off the pour blocks and assembled the PE actuators. Fuselage halves are now together and I am the process of sanding all this out, fit is pretty bad but Ill make it work. Ill have some more updates this weekend. enjoy Bob

Joe - thanks buddy Robbo - thanks mate I appreciate it. Mostly I have been sanding.....and sanding........and....well........sanding. The fit is pretty bad so lot of filling. I am at the final stages of that now after fitting the intake gates. Nothing like a silver sharpie to pick out the bad stuff. More filling needs to be done on the speed break, gaps are way to big Intake gates, both have this horrific gap This is not even the worst. The front portion of the fuselage had to be joined to the rest of the fuselage. There are NO alignment pins......nothing, they just butt up to one another. I spent a week sanding both out it was so bad. Hopefully at some point this week I have some paint on them. stay tuned. Bob

Sorry to hear/see the bad gap issues you are going through with this but your patience seem to have been paying off especially if you are talking paint!! Looking forward to it!!!

Good evening brother, Egads! That air brake looks wonky. Not of your doing but, rather the kit itself. Anywho, if there's anyone who can whip this styrene into shape it's you. I've seen some of the abhorrent and unholy styrene you have straightened out and, this will be no exception. Still taking notes. Dave
