Yup...it's me, posting about old bikes Actually, I love WWI airplanes, but I have not time to model all I like. This is Eduard 8407 kit, Weekend Edition, reboxed by Revell. I choose the box art version to paint (the other scheme is Udet's plane, overall silver, eeewww, meesa dont like it) I hope I can start the building this weekend (it's a weekend edition, right?) Fortunately there is a couple of similar planes built in the forum, so, my job will be easier. Thanks, guys. I've no read much about this plane, but two facts call my attention: 1) It is considered the most beautiful plane of WWI 2) It was not a good plane; see what von Richthofen wrote (from Wikipedia): The D.V entered service in May 1917 and, like the D.III before it, immediately began experiencing structural failures of the lower wing. Indeed, anecdotal evidence suggests that the D.V was even more prone to wing failures than the D.III. The outboard sections of the upper wing also suffered failures, requiring additional wire bracing. Furthermore, the D.V offered very little improvement in performance. This caused considerable dismay among frontline pilots, many of whom preferred the older D.III. Manfred von Richthofen was particularly critical of the new aircraft. In a July 1917 letter, he described the D.V as "so obsolete and so ridiculously inferior to the English that one can't do anything with this aircraft."
Well, lets go to the model. As always, I added some interior details. The pilot belts was made of tin foil and the P.E. buckles are from Reheat Models First paint coat with Tamiya XF57+XF60 followed by some grain drawed with regular color pencils: Then a coat of diluted acrylic pint was added, to variate the tones: Next step will be....oils applied with sponge, I guess, and then a dark wash Darío

Nice approach to the 'wood' interior portions of the cockpit Dario, looking good.

Thanks guys! Some advances: I added the spark wires and replaced the valvs for twisted copper wire. The exhaust tip was drilled using drill bits and a cutter Most elements in place; the golden thing between engine and firewall is the gas tank, made out of styrene sheets. To the right side of the pic you can barely see the instruments, made using Reheat Models decals and HGW bezels. The acrylic wash left horribles water marks on the ammo drum...would be corrected later Watermarks corrected and the 2 ...things for the pilot's feet The seat wrinkles was improved using thick acrylic paint. You can see the compass on the floor, drawed using CorelDraw X3, then printed in photopaper and cut with my home-made "Punch & Die" The wood effect after some oils applied with sponge and a couple of oil washes; not a great effect, but enough for this tiny cockpit Thanks for looking D

Considering how small this is, the level of detail you're adding is pretty impressive Dario, looking good!
