I started her off on the MM site so I'll give you an quick 'where I'm up to' There's the box and contents shot I've decided to close up the all the panels apart from the LH engine cover. Refined the framing a bit Fixed the RH panel in place Kit supplied seat armour was silly thick so scratched up my own I've many more shots to post and a long way to go on the build, comments and tips welcome Cheers Steve

Thanks for the positive words guys ChrisB , my Avatar is a PR19 from the BBMF. These are RR Griffon powered and needs the 5 blade prop to 'get the power down' It sounded beautiful ;D If only I could get a 1/24 or 1/32 one of these It's my pic I took it some years ago at a local summer fair where it made an appearance here's the full size image. Cheers Steve

Evening Chaps, Further updates for you this time on the rudder. Started out with this, the two kit parts glued together This is still tooled for the Mk1a and has the aerial fitting on the top (highlighted) the VB's aerial fits to the fin. removed this and then opened up the trim tab. also cut away the 'soft' moulded arm and rod and replaced it with stock .5mm rod, then drilled out the rear light housing. Finally cleaned up the whole thing ready for paint Not much for two hours work eh Comments welcome Cheers Steve

Right, there's a rumor going around that this is a thread about a Spitfire build ... so I thought I'd better get on with it ;D Progress so far, about 50 hours in I've started work on the seat by adding the padding on the back, made from Milliput The wing needs loads of work to make it look anything like a VB one. Filled the unused shell shoots and 'clipped' the wings. The Airfix supplied new end caps were a nasty fit but nothing Milliput and a file cant beat into shape Started adding a bit of detail to he wheel wells, blocked off the 'see through' effect and put some ribs on the underside Found some sink marks on the prop so these have had a first fill, again with Milliput Finally, Added the engine carrier frame to the fuse. I'm going to close her all up apart from the one LH mid panel so trimmed the other side to make it easier to fit it all together later. So that's it for now, if you add this to the story so far on MM's forum... not much for 50 hours Comment welcome.. even if some are about the build Cheers Steve
