Getting ready to take the plunge on my next jet build - Hasegawa's 1/48 A-7E. For the scheme, I'll be going with a low-viz VA-72 Bluehawks ship from Operation Desert Storm. Along with the F-4G, RF-4C, A-6E, B-52 and a handful of others, the A-7E was and old dog that performed remarkably well in the conflict. I've read that many squadrons were less than happy when they were transitioned into the Hornet a few years later since it wasn't as effective a bomber. I'll be doing "405" but here's a shot of "414" in action. And here's a nice shot of 402 showing just how dirty these SLUFs got in combat. I'll be using the AirDocs Atlantic Fleet Low-Viz decal sheet. Outside of the decals and weapons (Mk.20 Rockeyes at least...A-7's dropped something like 70% of all Rockeyes dropped in Desert Storm), the only aftermarket I'm planning to use is Aires' gorgeous cockpit. Should be starting soon-ish.

I'm looking forward to this build, I've liked the A-7 since seeing one display at the IAT in the UK many years ago I had a Trumpy 1/32 version but when I looked at it the shape was all wrong, for £80 they should be ashamed, at least jackwagon Turpin wore a mask
