Hi, gents. I would like to show my previous build - Sherman M4A1 75mm (large hatch). It's a kit-bash of Italeri M4A1 76mm hull and Tamiya M4A3 75(W) turret, Dragon suspension. Turret from Italeri model and Tamiya hull I used in my latest project - M4A3(76)W Sherman of the 14th Armored Division.
These tanks were build at the Pressed Steel Car facility. The first M4A1s with large hatches were equipped with 75mm guns. They were manufactured in December 1943, and can be seen to have "cast in appliqué" on the sides. It is thought that the cast in appliqué was a feature of the last 500 or so PSC built M4A1(75)s (approximately 400 small hatch units and 100 large hatch). Many of the large hatch M4A1(75)s were converted to Duplex Drive Swimming Tanks (http://the.shadock.free.fr/sherman_minutia/manufacturer/m4a1largehatches/m4a1_largehatches.html). So, only 100 units of such modification were build. I'm not completely sure about accuracy of my model because a lot of information was not available 2 years ago. Model was finished at 2013, but I did not make the final photos yet. Be patient...
I have the undisputed title of knowing the absolute minimum about anything of any importance and that includes the M4 family....but I do pride myself in an inate ability to spot a darned good bit of model-maiking when I see one and guess what? I SEE ONE!!!
Another cool lookin' Shermie there George
If yer think yer one in a million, chances are, YOU AIN'T!

In the future please warn me first if you are going to post pictures with lots of shiny stuff so i can put on my sunglasses. It looks GREAT! Nice work on surface texture too. BigJohn and some guys are going to love this...
Thank you, guys, for your comments, I do appreciate your attention to my model. Actually, only day ago I mentioned couple unforgivable mistakes at my build, moreover it is not my first Sherman - shame on me.
I should make a logical end for my blog, moreover, yesterday I had a chance to make a big photo session... This model took first place at Montreal model contest in spring 2014, category Allied vehicles.
I posted the pics of this model at forum we used last summer, forgot it's name.
