Hi, gents.
I would like to show my previous build - Sherman M4A1 75mm (large hatch). It's a kit-bash of Italeri M4A1 76mm hull and Tamiya M4A3 75(W) turret, Dragon suspension. Turret from Italeri model and Tamiya hull I used in my latest project - M4A3(76)W Sherman of the 14th Armored Division.
These tanks were build at the Pressed Steel Car facility. The first M4A1s with large hatches were equipped with 75mm guns. They were manufactured in December 1943, and can be seen to have "cast in appliqué" on the sides. It is thought that the cast in appliqué was a feature of the last 500 or so PSC built M4A1(75)s (approximately 400 small hatch units and 100 large hatch). Many of the large hatch M4A1(75)s were converted to Duplex Drive Swimming Tanks (http://the.shadock.free.fr/sherman_minutia/manufacturer/m4a1largehatches/m4a1_largehatches.html). So, only 100 units of such modification were build.
I'm not completely sure about accuracy of my model because a lot of information was not available 2 years ago.
Model was finished at 2013, but I did not make the final photos yet. Be patient...
