Robbo, I hope I don't disappoint you Dicky, thanks mate, ...the friendly and sea faring kind Leon, that sounds like a plan. You won't get any argument from me. Jeff 1 and Jeff 2, thanks guys. Jeff 2, like the man said ... Come on in... the water's fine! Thanks Bill, it's coming together. getting to that "it looks like something" state. Work continues. And if I didn't say it already (and even if I did) CRIKEY! Small parts abound! None of this is glued in place yet but work on the superstructure continues. As I get the sub--Assemblies together it reminds me of an episode of "Build It Bigger" on the building of an aircraft carrier and the crane moving giant sections of the ship[ that where pre-assembled into position.

Bill, Sabre... thanks guys. I was going to do the camo version and still may. But for a 1st ship it's probably wiser to go with the KISS method, even though that is so not like me . And, I kind of like the look after I pulled all the tape off.

Thanks guys. Jeff, I took a better shot without the flash. The paints are Lifecolor. They make US Navy colors, individually and sets. The hull is 5N Navy Blue the boot stripe is actually Tamiya black. The hull red is also Lifecolor but it's FS 10076 It gets that orange cast, like at the prow, from the lighting. The color under the portholes it what it really looks like. I read on one of the war ship forums that it's a good match for a ready mixed paint. I have the 20 B Deck Blue for the deck and upper surfaces when ready for that step.

Sweet work on the hull and boot stripe Marc! Always a 'moment of truth' when you pull off that masking tape.

Hey guys thanks a lot. Bill, that was a moment of truth all right. The truth being a good portion of the hull red peeling off. The good news was it was all on the bottom so easy to fix...and hide.

Another day and a few more bits and bobs glued together. The bulk of the superstructure is now complete and next will be adding all he mute stuff that bristles all over this thing. Like deck guns, rafts, depth charges, lions, tiger and bears OH MY! Each anti aircraft is 5 parts with PE and the size of a booger. Anyway... here he latest mock up of all the subs and it really looks like a ship now.
