Not sure if this is the right board for this one but it seemed to fit time period wise for the build of the vehicle, approx 70's, but could be seen used today by the irregular forces...... so if one of the mods needs to relocate please feel free. So this was supposed to be a quick sunday afternoon project to give me a break from other things....... not so lol foolish mortal! Armada hobby from the czech republic have a great range of post war eastern European armour etc, included in the inventory is this They also do a box van version.... And here are the parts There are a few airbubbles and re-shaping that required attention before construction can begin, also the rear panel needed cutting out for the replacement which I require open, the tyre detail is exquisite for the scale! And here is the reason the back is needed open..... I saw these weapons from Mini world a Ukrainian company some time ago, and they are amazing, not cheap but then quality never is... Yep a 12.7mm WW2 DSHK, it comes as a multi positional kit, tripod or wheeled with or without shield and finely cast in brass with PE in copper. So this will be mounted in the rear, had a dry fit and it works a treat

Jeff, Lucas I think you may need to take things up with Andy as he seems to want the name Mr Brass applied to yours truely lol Thank you all for the interest guys and sorry progress has been slowwwwwww...... work and gardening have taken up a fair bit of my energies not to mention a huge amount of brain power on the corvette build cuckoo So here is a small update..... An absolute beautiful kit in miniature, this is where some of my watchmaking skills came in handy. There has been progress on the scallyvan ( the brits will understand)(taliban) truck lol but have not photographed as yet and still checking a few details but needless to say she is scrubbing up ok with a bit of TLC

Vlad, atm Im doing an advanced training as a clockmaker. Our teacher - a very clever man btw, born in the former GDR in the 50s - told us that the Moskvich was produced as Opel Kadett I in Western Germany. But that was pretty often the case the other way round: Production lines of the SBZ (Sowjetische Besatzungszone, = Soviet Occupied Zone) went to Russia due to reparations after WW2. Theres loads of examples of vehicles, machines etc. produced in the former GDR and "reinvented" for Western Germany or even France, US etc. ["...After the war, the USSR acquired an entire Opel manufacturing line from Brandenburg in Germany.[1] A factory called MZMA (Moskovsky Zavod Malolitrazhnykh Avtomobiley, that is, Moscow Compact Car Factory) started in 1947 to manufacture an automobile called Moskvitch 400 based on the Opel Kadett. Further models were developed by Soviet engineers. In 1969, the factory changed name to AZLK (Avtomobilny Zavod imeni Leninskogo Komsomola, which means Car Factory in the name of the Leninist Communist Youth Union)..."] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moskvitch
Maybe you knowe it already - pretty new to me and very interesting. And a Wartburg hatch was the same for the Opel Caravan! Ha... New inventions in Western Germany that time? Not really
Btw - may it be that you moved your pictures?

Vlad, atm Im doing an advanced training as a clockmaker. Good luck with your training, its a very interesting job and one I do miss but the politics in the industry drove me away Btw - may it be that you moved your pictures? Yep I found them lurking in my T-90 folder, so moved them out and of course lost the links, back now Also I think you are educating me on the moskvich, it is good info and very useful for research an repalcing the missing details. I knew nothing of the vehicle apart from it fitted the time line for post soviet Afghanistan and would be suitable for an irregular forces technical.

Hehe its a don't mess name that is and more shiny than just Vlad lol Cheers chaps Did a little more detailing last night and took some photos whilst I remembered. I dug out a jerry can from the spares and cut away the moulded handle and replaced with some brass (of course) wire, looks a little better I feel. The pick up received some grab handles on the load bed and that is pretty much where I am at for the moment, door handles an a few other little details.......... the windscreen is scaring the pants off me, how I am to do this I am not sure as its curved and angled, will ponder on this one, but if anyone has a suggestion please feel free to share. So I will leave you with some pikkies As you can see I received my delivery of oversized small coin lol And including some better shots of the DSHK Right what else have I got on the go..........
