The barrel looks just right... At least in a Dragon's engineer eyes Looks like you will have to do some extra job to make it stay together. The tracks look good, keep up the great work

Tracks are looking good Jeff, as for Dragon engineering, that's an oxymoron!

All comments ingested and digested. Thanks Guys. Needless to say the tracks didn't handle the...um...... handling and fell apart at every opportunity. Will have to try plan B. Thanks for the tape trick Dicky, I may just give it a go.
Carl, welcome aboard Dude.

Carl, Dicky, feel free to be ludicrous in my threads at any time. Many of the things I post here lean heavily that way.

Thanks Carl. It's been awhile since I've done any MTs and this is only my third set so I was a little rusty. Don't really find them boring, I kinda get into a groove and go with it.

Nice track run, Jeff. As Carl says you can count just one more or, if you want to sleep well, make a countdown, 100 to go, 99 to go...

Leon, Carl and Luigi, the instructions call for 78 links per side but of course the right side needed 79 That caused a moment of panic. Hurry up the glue's drying kind of thing. I did persevere though and wrestled it into shape. Also got half the roadwheels finished. Stuff is drying now. Don't know if I'll get any more done on this today or not, getting ready to go to My first show tomorrow. ACW

Looking good Jeff! The Abrams has a 'live' track system (no sag) so it shouldn't make any difference even with the skirts on. Kudos to you for doing the full run!

Nice looking run of track fella, it does make me wonder wether rubber band tracks were that bad! I don't think I'd have your patience with single links!

Bill, NOW you tell me about the track sag Shows you how much I kmow about modern stuff. Good info to have though. Thanks Bud. Mack, they really weren't that bad. Just about 1 1/2 hours a side from putting them together to hanging them. Dicky, Oh really? The old track switch a roo you say? Nope Plan of attack for the tracks is as follows.weather hull, need the practice, paint and weather tracks, need the practice, hang tracks, need the practice. mask and glue the upper hull in place. The reason I'm doing things this way is in messing aroud with this I have found that I may not have enough space in the track bays to hang the skirts. May have to add a spacer to the upper hull.

I may be being overly cautious. There are no holes, pins or slots to align the upper and lower hull so it's hard to get a good idea on just how much space there is. Everything could be O.K. But it looks pretty close. Enough so that I need to have a fix lined up in case there's a problem with clearance. I've had problems with "skirt clearance" in the past, if ya know what I'm sayin' and need to be ready A spacer should be no sweat though if it needs it.

Perhaps if a certain member of the site took a little more care with his skirt clearance - the world would be a slightly less worrying place eh?
Well, that wasn't exactly what I was referring to but you do have a point.

Jeff , since the tread pads surface is mostly what you see I'm thinking paint them a rubber color . The end connectors are the next major part seen and they could be a slightly brown/rust color brushed on . Then what ever the color of the dirt environment you choose for a dusting .
