Anyone use 'em? And tips on getting the perfect finish with them? I am going to use them on the Buchanan build. I even bought their thinner(WOW EXPENSIVE) but figured for what may be a 1 shot deal with this brand. If I really like 'em then I have it until I figure out the cheaper alternative.

I've used them a fair bit on armor. I like to thin them with windshield washer fluid. Distilled water will work but surface tension can be a problem. It doesn't go down well at all over bare plastic and works best by building it up thinly in layers.

Marc,I used them once on my Isherman, someone recommended them as the proper color for Isreali Armor. They sprayed on really smooth.I eyeballed the mix to a milky consistency with simple tap water.I thought they were easy to use and was happy with the finish.I only used them once,so I can't say if I got lucky or that they were really easy to use.Heres a couple of shots. Basecoat with no weathering yet

Hi Marc, I've used them a few times and wand found they go down well over a good primer coat. In my experience they need to be well cured before any handling or the colour wears off easily. Outside of that- a lovely smooth and flat finish and a nice range of colours. HTH P

well I have to give a big lol to my last post. I'm sitting by the fire pit with the Bourbon and was about to answer some of the postsand my wife came out to join me. I put the tablet down and it was still in voice to text mode and was picking up little snippets of our conversation.

HAHA... no "weed" was involved at all whether it be "burned" or needing to be pulled from the lawn. Your guess is as good as mine on hat one. At the end..."then give me one friend free beer battery " No clue bro. in the middle there... well lets just say there some "back pain" that worked itself out But what was meant from the get go... Thanks for the responses. I had heard it needs a good primer to hold onto the model so it could in turn hold on to that. Anthony, I remember that build. The slight sheen over the highlights on that points to a nice smooth thin coat. Cool.

They thin well with Testors' acryl thinner, too.
Two certain characteristics I've found with them:
- Lifecolor goes down really well over other Lifecolor. If spraying over anything else, watch out for it spidering and running.
- it changes color as it dries, making shading a bit of a challenge

good thread. just purchased some lc shades to give a go to. waiting for the thinner to arrive. (monday if the tracking is right) also purchased some vallejo stuff and their thinner. going to give it a solid try to change over to acrylics. which by my history with acrylics could be an interesting thing.
