Well "T" the English were between a rock and and hard spot and with a German invasion expected they were in dire need of a anti tank weapon. Someone came up with the idea of mounting a 3in. naval anti aircraft gun on a Churchill. 50 were ordered but the contact was cancelled after 25 were produced. They were kept at home for defence but since the Germans never landed they never saw on bit of combat so don't pay much attention to the box art. Dan there was a snag but easy enough to fix. Two of the spring towers for the suspension were damaged, funny thing is both were at the same place on two different trees,I made replacements out of Evergreen rod. Otherwise shes gone pretty smooth. Looking at the box art you'll notice what looks to be desert camo. The instructions shows two different camo schemes but i'm thinking being kept in the UK wouldn't they be painted that solid UK Green? ?? Thanks guys Tony lee

Thanks guys Tony lee Tony,My limited understanding of this particular version, would lead me to believe you would be correct in your assumption.Chris Meddings, who owns Inside the Armour,is VERY knowledgable about the Churchill, and I'm sure will be more than willing to assist,if you ask him ,Nicely....

Cee Bee i've known Chris long time now. He already has a correction set out for this kit but it's to rich for my blood. Metal barrel which the kit already has, correct front section resin fenders and some PE to correct rear fender end sections. I'll ask him about the paint color, Thanks Saturday Update Fenders not installed until some paint and tracks Have a good one folks Tony lee

WOW! Sorry to say but it has to be the BEST ugly looking British SPG. CeeBee would be thrilled that I said 'the best' this time.
But I am loving this... I am tempted to add this to my wish list.

Thanks All From Mike Starmer "1941- 42 – Standard Camouflage Colour Shades ( S.C.Cs.) from BS.987C came into use alongside and then supplanting, the greens, but in the same M.T.P. patterns. The basic shade was Khaki Green 3 or S.C.C. 2 with S.C.C. 1A over it. These browns were introduced as a result of a severe shortage of a vital chemical agent used to produce strong greens." That settles that David Waters told me he read that the 3 inch gun units were painted with the two tone brown scheme. Sounds good to me, Thanks David Later Tony lee

Yep, me too: count me in! This is an oddball so ugly it gets beautiful in it's own way just by looking at it. I wish I had your pace in building kits though.
Keep us posted Tony!
greetings, Richard.

It would take a gallon of Love Potion #9 for even a mother to love it huh Andy Or a SPG nut like me Tony lee A gallon? This thing would have to marinate in it for a month for it to work. This thing has a face that only a blind mother could love…..or an SPG modeler. You're building an SPG with a closed top? You feeling OK? This is certainly an intriguing topic….count me in. Dave

Well Dave I left the back door cracked There is absolutely nothing on the inside not even a gun breech. Even with the aft and top hatch open you couldn't see into the interior even if it were complete. Thanks Tony lee

That would be nice to have an interior like that... am sure one day aftermarket company will come up with one?
