I was thinking of looking for a portable, personal electron microscope! Todd, have I got a deal for you son. I'm not using it at the moment now that I've got the 1/700th and 1/144th kits built. I'll throw it in the back of my truck and bring it down to you. I can be there by noon.

That main gun mount is a real odd ball for sure, I always got a kick out those oldies before radar where they had those tall towers hoping to see the enemy before he saw you. WW2 battles would have been real slugging matches had radar not been available, more like the old John Paul Jones days.

Some of them battles I think were slugging matches. Gone are the days of the naval battle! All fly by wire now and you can reach out an touch someone from a couple hundred miles away or more. Well, this might be the last update before I start slinging some primers around! I left most of the deck items off for the painting stage and most of the items seen in place are only mocked up. Mail railing will be going in after the painting. I still need to make up 6 more of these litter buggers. Not the easiest to make up, but get easier the more you do. I managed to make up the two, 2-pdr. Mark VII Quad Mountings. This was easier than I thought. I only needed to chop one of the resin Quads to make up the two of them. There is a top mast that is made up. I left this out of the mock up due to the fitting is not the easiest and knowing my finger, things might get mashed!! I decided to scrap the first "Chicago Piano" and use the remaining setup to get things a little cleaner. Well that is that for the moment. I will get to the priming in the next day or so. I am waiting on a little bit of a helping hand...after speaking with Kenny from Gator Studios, he is making up a Gator Mask for the Camouflage for this ugly duckling! Looks like I have some painting to be done soon!! Thanks for tuning in!!

Detailing is amazing T As for for the look of the old tub, she was designed as a Monitor, that is she had a very shallow draft for her size meaning she could get close to shores or even sail up large river eateries, bringing battleship guns into use on hardened land targets. She served on D-day of Sword beach.

Geez! That turrets' huge. Looks like they added to much fertilizer on it. An image comes to mind of it firing broadside and the recoil breaking poor old mr Roberts in half. Your brass work is a work if art. If it were my work, it would be a pain in the arse work. Awesome Todd.

Thanks Jeff and Leon!! Glad to have folks like you along for the ride! Jeff, the black...well Bill touched on a fin point with hit exploration in this territory. Typically I prime and hit the hull 1st as red has a tendency to bleed under tape more than any other paint and then the boot-stripe to follow...but with the full black I have control over shading now as well as a built-in boot-stripe.
