Well, I'm reposting here the thread I've started on MHISC: I needed a OOB build to have a break from all the PE and added stuff I've had in my last builds. My choice was Trumpy's KV2, with the only addition of an Aber turned aluminium barrel. This: is the inspiration pic. As usual I started assembling the lower hull: I replaced the kit's mg with a cut syringe needle, as the one provided wasn't hollow. I then switched to the turret: Again, the kit's mg had the same issue as the one in the hull, so again I replaced it with a syringe needle: That done, I did the battle damage that has stopped the beast: All the handles were done with the handlemaker that Andy and I have. Next up wheels, tracks and fenders. As always ACW

Thanks a lot guys Marcel, sometimes you have to focus on something else, like exploring new painting techniques on a fairly simple kit, to relax from the overengineering of the latest kits

Recently I opened a resine aftermarket set for a water tank lorry and it was 100% rubbish.
I'll have to scratch it all I'm afraid.
Sometimes building a kit straight from the box is much more fun than adding loads of metal/resine parts.
The model is less vulnerable while painting/finishing if it just consists plastic.
