Continuing what was started on MHI, MSC presents the
SAM Publications-MSC 'Build a Wingy' Challenge:
The
world of aircraft can be both fascinating and intimidating when it
comes to building an aircraft scale model because there are so many
different designs from the various eras and countries! Whether you’re a
die-hard aircraft ‘wing-nut’, someone who dabbles in aircraft among
other genres, or someone who is contemplating their first aircraft build
project, this challenge is for you! Here are the rules for the
Challenge:
1) Start and finish a new aircraft build blog thread anywhere on the MSC forums (including the GB forums) between June 1, 2014 and October 1, 2014.
The build blog thread must show in progress stages of the build as well
as a minimum of 3 completed ‘walk-around’ photos of the build to
qualify with the builder declaring the build to be ‘finished’ when the
photos are posted. Completion is defined as fully
painted/marked/weathered as applicable to the build. If the build
project includes a base, the base must also be fully finished to
qualify.
2) Any scale from any era is acceptable.
Each individual build log thread will be considered as a separate entry
for prize eligibility. There is no limit to the number of entries an
individual user may have in the Challenge provided the blog threads meet
the above criteria.
3) The ‘Build a Wingy’ Challenge is open to all registered users of the MSC.
Participation in the Challenge is automatic and does not require any
additional effort by the user to enter beyond creating the build thread.
All aircraft build threads meeting the criteria will be automatically
entered into the Challenge for a chance to win one of the Challenge
Prizes.
Prizes:
Editor’s Choice Grand Prize:
The editorial staff from SAM Publications will evaluate each entry and
its corresponding build blog thread to determine the Grand Prize winner.
The Grand Prize winner will receive 6 books of their choice from the available SAM Publications book library with the prize shipped directly to the winner.
Random Draw 2nd Prize: Each eligible entry will be assigned a number and a randomly selected winner will receive 3 books of their choice from the available SAM Publications book library with the prize shipped directly to the winner.
Random Draw 3rd Prize: Each eligible entry will be assigned a number and a randomly selected winner will receive 1 book of their choice from the available SAM Publications book library with the prize shipped directly to the winner.
Winners
will be contacted via the MSC PM system to claim their prize and
provide the necessary shipping details once the Challenge is complete.
There is a strict limit of one prize per winner.
If a winner has multiple entries in the Challenge, once they have been
selected, their remaining entries will be removed from further prize
consideration in the subsequent prize drawings.
Participation in
the ‘Build a Wingy’ Challenge is separate from the ongoing Model of the
Month competition. Participation in the Challenge does not disqualify a
user from the MoM or vice versa.
So what are you waiting for? Get started on a wingy build today and good luck with the Challenge!
