Wow, just went back and looked at the pios in the last post. Didn't realize how much difference there is in the exposures between real and what came over from Photobucket. Cats really are quite a bit darker than these pics show. I may go back and replace these soon as I get chance. Pics look about two stops over exposed. With the gloss on them, their even darker.

Looking good Rick! Could be that green sheet (assuming it's green...) you're using under the kits is tricking your camera into the over-exposed lighting vs. what they really look like in person. Either way, these are progressing very nicely, almost done with them.

Haven't forgotten this one. Partly held up by decals. Picked up one set but looking for some additional markings for marine markings to finish them up.

2-28-15 - Finished!
Worked on one of the 'cats while in down time with the Typhoon build. Finally finished up one of them. Here's the finishing touches.

Decals were a mixture of decals scrounged from several aftermarket sets.




Once the decals were added, a gloss coat followed by chipping, exhaust stains, and general grime. EZ line provided the antenna line. The canopy was added last.








Calling this one DONE! All in all, I think this old Monogram kit from 1964 really stands the test of time. A few updates and thinning a few parts helped to bring this one up to speed.
