We it's been ages since I posted a thread on a car or truck and a few years since I have built one. I bought this Revell GMC PU with plow to use for techniques and how-to's and thought I would post some pics now and then. I need to have her built and in primer and maybe some base colors before the IPMS Nats next month. I hope to use this model there to show some painting/weathering techniques etc. She is basically OOTB with the exception of adding corrosion, duct tape on the seat and worn tires.

Nice touch with the fender corrosion there Rob, all that salt exposure comes at a price.

Thanks Leon. I can't decide on a color. Was thinking dark blue of baby blue. I will do one door in red and a gray primered hood, that much I am sure of....I think. Here are a couple of cool ref pics.

Nice, I like the base rust. Subtle variations add a lot to the overall look.

Hey Boss, nice lookin' Jimmy. For it to be authentic though, you need to make sure the rocker panels and cab corners are rusted away to nothing too

I need this and the Tug done for the IPMS show in two weeks. Well not done but just base colors on them.

I love the look of this truck, it's one of my all time favorite trucks (I am a Chevy truck guy). You are doing a cracking good job! I really like the direction your going in. Looking forward to the next update.

Moving right along on this one Rob, should be the perfect foundation for the show demo.

Now that's what I call a 'beater' scheme...two different blues, the green, AND the rust all thrown in. Very cool.
