Love the fit - and especially how that tail/spine just covers up any upper seam...

All your comments are well taken Boys. No update today. Had a Whale of a hailstorm last night so I've been busy cleaning up and dealing with our Insurance Company. Got 3 damaged vehicles, house and shed roof and a camper awning that are pretty well toasted

How are you making out up there Jeff? Sorry to hear about the damage!! That is the worst thing about weather events, sometimes they can be very localized and other times widespread. I guess you need to be thankful everyone is well. If insurance covers everythig then you might get back to normal soon I hope! Hang in the buddy!!

Bull and Todd, thanks for your concern Guys. it's been a little disjointed around here to say the least. Things are going pretty good though. Don't know when I'll be back at the bench.

Well, not much progress but some none the less. Decided to go with a Zinc- Chromate-ish color for the internals. Landing Gear bay and fuselage painted. Glued in place and drying. I had to sand the top of the bays a little to get a good fit with the wings. Not much I know but it is what it is

Hey Guys, 2 questions.
1. I've never used the Eduard masks before. How long can they be left on with out doing damage?
2. On the canopy, Do I paint it first and then dip it future or the other way around?

A long time as long as you're not getting them really wet, etc.
Future first, then mask and paint.

Thanks Matt, one more if you will, what's the best way to remove them from the liner? Should I remove the liner leaving the masks in place or pick the masks off the liner?

Looking good... I used my best tweezer to remove the masking off my DUKW last time and it worked very well. I chose a corner and started from there...

Thanks Matt, one more if you will, what's the best way to remove them from the liner? Should I remove the liner leaving the masks in place or pick the masks off the liner? Definitely weed the liner from the sheet (you may need tweezers to hold down the masks in some places to keep them from coming away with it). For the masks themselves, I find it's best to use a really sharp #11 blade, or better yet a scalpel blade, to lift up a corner, then grab with tweezers and remove. For removing the masks at the end of the process, take a toothpick and shave it into a flat wedge shape. Use this to push/lift one edge, then go at it with tweezers, moving slowly. You want to work so that you're always lifting along the edges, rather than out toward them, since that's what leads to paint lift.
