IDF M109 Doher - Pre-Build Chit Chat

Good evening ladies and gents... It has been way too long since I've actually started or followed through on a build thread so I thought I'd give you guys a little bit of a sneak peak at my next project. It'll be a week or two before I actually get a chance to start this one but I am excited to say the least.

Here's what we've got....







I've got the Bison Decal set inbound from the Far East as well as the Life Color IDF Set.

Oh ya, and for good measure I've also got a nice reference book to verify the details...

Sorry for not getting pictures of the kits guys, I got caught up with the M88 I'm working on. Bronco tracks and then a little bit of weathering. I'm not really blogging that one but here's a quick pic of what I was up to with it last ngiht.

That M88 is one of the last AFV Club kit's I've been unsuccessful in tracking down (for a reasonable price, of course!). Hoping to get lucky this fall at one of the shows. Nice job so far on that one!

Dupes, I got my from Sprue Brothers. I'm not sure how competetive the prices on these are but it was under $40. In my oppinon there really are only a couple drawbacks to the kit. 1. The tow bars and their attachemnts are all single molded blobs of plastic, and the handles on a few hatches are awful! Then, well theres the tracks. I think all in, Kit, PE, and Tracks I'm about $75 bucks into this one. If you can find one at a show with at least some of the A.M. you'll be sitting pretty!

Adam,the only trouble I had was with the tiny hinges on on the front upper hull .Lost a few after they pinged out of the tweezers.

I haven't build the AFV M-109 but i have used the tracks on the Kinetic and they are a joy to work with, the Legend set is a very nice one if what i heard is correct.
I am curious if there is any progress to report..?
