Hello Folks,
In an effort to salvage some of the content from MHISC, I will bring over the individual remaining entrants for the Wingy Challenge and their builds to MSC in case they wish to continue to participate in the contest.
If you are one of the contestants and you wish to revive you build and have this content under you own name as the Thread Originator, simple follow the same instruction for moving posts from one forum to MSC outlined HERE and you can start a new thread and easily copy and past the information into the new thread. Any questions, please do not hesitate to PM me and I can help you through the process.
Well guy's i've decided to give this a go. Been thinking about a flying
machine for a while and as usual i've plunged in at the deep end
somewhat with this
warbird...............................................................
It should be with me in a few days so i'll get some pics up of what i'm up against!
Now,
i have to say this is my first aircraft since i was about 12 and for me
now this is like going back to the start. This will be an out of the
box number, i know my way around tanks fairly well but flyers are a bit
mysterious as far as modeling goes, this will test my skill particularly
with painting and decals so hopefully i'll be able to do it justice. No
doubt i'll have a few questions as i crack on but looking forward to
the challenge, onwards and upwards!
Stuart.
Ok, it took me quite a bit of time to find a mask for the canopy, seems
most companies don't make them for a G2 but i got one in the end.
No
building started yet but because of the complexities of the cockpit i
decided to prime all the parts on the sprues. Two reasons for this
really, the first being, trumpeter styrene is very shiny and the second
being that as almost all paint will be lifecolor, previous experience
tells me that it only work with a well primed surface, unlike Tamiya
which seems to stick to anything.
Tomorrow will see the building stage begin and i'm really looking forward to this, going to be a real challenge!
Thanks for looking
Stuart.
