Chaps... It's. a biggy and a very involved build. I won't bore you with the story so far, here's a couple of pics instead. Engine and subframe mostly done, I have used aftermarket turned aluminium brake discs. Cheers!

Wow. Looks excellent!
1/12? So you're looking at 18" long or something like that?

Couldn't think of a more appropriate adjective, so WOW!
Are the headers done with Alclad hot metal? I've been thing of trying it.

Chaps.
Dupes, yep, it's a fair size for sure, looking forward to the next stage so I can properly get to grips with the monocoque.
Mule, yes mate. The headers come in that aluminium sort of finish, so I simply laid on some Alclad Hot Metal Sepia and some Hot Metal Blue until I was happy with the effect then sealed it all with Alclad Klear Kote MId Sheen?

Cheers DP. Ok, small update. Monocoque under way, all primed, painted and sealed. Don't underestimate how much paint this will consume!

Hi Mence,
Really nice to see this, you're making great progress. I was amazed how much more time consuming this kit is compared to the Carrera GT! I'm still working away at mine I'm up to stage 40 (not even half way), but I'm puzzling over how to adjust the doors correctly to sit flush with the roof. I'm going to do some tests with thin stainless steel wire around the frames and see if I can get that to work for me. What Colour will you paint yours? Im going for Rosso Scuderia 323.
Looking forward to more updates.
Best Regards
Keith.

Hi Keith.
Hoped you weren't going to show as I doubt my build is anywhere near as slick as yours!
You're right, hugely labour intensive but fun all the same.
My chosen colour is Grigio Titanio 328...

Hi Keith. Hoped you weren't going to show as I doubt my build is anywhere near as slick as yours! You're right, hugely labour intensive but fun all the same. My chosen colour is Grigio Titanio 328... Thanks for the compliment... I think This should look stunning in the 328 colour. If you haven't already come to fitting the rear bulkhead, make sure you test fit it with the rear window, engine, lower frame and monocoque as I had a couple of issues getting every thing to sit perfectly without a gap at the top, it is important that its sits in the correct place with no gap at the top as otherwise you can see right into the cabin!! Have you looked at the doors yet? Keep up the good work. Best Regards Keith

Cheers Keith, it was either that or banana yellow, glad I made the choice I did!
Thanks for the heads up on the bulkhead, I'm fast approaching that part so will be extra careful.
Doors are a long way off at the moment, will report back when I get there.
