I decided to take a break from CHP cars and do a civilian hot rod next. I'm using this kit.
The kit is appears to be in pretty good shape for an old AMT kit that has been bouncing around in my stash for several years. So far there have been no warping issues and fitting has been good.
The only issue so far is the number of ejection pin sinks that have to be filled.
This is typical of the larger kit pieces. Not too bad though if things don't get any worse. That's it for now. More to follow as the build moves forward.

Nice choice... sometimes its OK to build something else so your cop cars can have something to chase after. You have my attention...

Made some progress over the last couple of days, mainly in the area of the body paint. I'm pretty pleased with how the colors turned out. Hopefully things will continue in this vein. As always, comments, suggestions, criticism and friendly ridicule welcome.

Glad you guys like the color combination. I was a little concerned that maybe I had gone too far over the top with it. Apparently not. I should have more to post tomorrow or Sunday.

I've made some progress on the chassis and engine over the last day or so. The engine is done minus the water hoses. I had planned on substituting a 427 for the kit engine, but to do so would have required extensive modification of the engine and the chassis. I wasn't willing to invest the time and effort so this ended up with the kit engine. I did not care for the kit wheels and tires, particularly the tires. For that reason I substituted wheels and tires from my parts box. I believe they come from the Revell 1934 Ford Coupe kit. In any event, they fit well after modification of the wheel backs.
Here is the current progress.
That's it for today. Hopefully this will be done later this coming week.

Here's today's progress. I decided to color the inside of the wheels as I thought they looked a little too plain.
The coloring completely changes the appearance of the wheels; for the good I think. The tail light comes out of the Revell Rat Roaster kit.
Got the interior done and installed. I forgot to get a photo of the interior bucket, but here are the front seats with the "leather" finish. I think the finish looks pretty good. That's it for today. Still have to finish the exhaust system and the chrome trim. Should be finished by Tuesday or Wednesday.

For all practical purposes the Vicky is done. I just noticed that the radiator cap is missing and that will be corrected. I have not decided whether to display the model with or without the hood and am open to suggestion here. The kit radiator hose did not fit properly so I made a new one from solder and shrink tubing. The tail lights are from my parts box.

Really appreciate the comments guys. Next up for me is going to be another CHP unit. I will be starting this in the next day or so. I will probably take somewhat longer as I am going to be working on the Frenchie's diorama and will be doing some updates to my Texaco Station diorama also.
