Fellas I decided to lock the How-to thread and start this one for comments and questions. This I think will keep the how-to thread easy to follow. As Spud had asked for all the pics in one place with out having to go through 100 pages, this will take care of that. It will be like a book, I'll add updates with explanations and pics, and you can ask questions here.......or complain how I messed something up Hope this is ok with you guys. You know how we get carried away BS'ing and getting off topic ey.

LOL. Figured it would be easier this way than to start another thread with just pics and sbs.
I hope those of you who commented on the other thread don't mind, but I am going to delete all the un related comments to clean up the SBS thread to make it easier to follow.

looks like you guys are getting into this more than I am...LOL.
John good of you to check into this one.
Er I'll go over that once the zimm part starts. Go pulled away from the bench and will get back to it shortly, as well as uploading some update pics. Basically the zimm will flake off in places, especially in the impact areas.
back soon with an update.....unless the missus has something else for me to do.

Sorry spud, forgot you there. The rear idler is for the track tension. The Panther and tigers would sit low as in the pics because of the intense heat from the internal fire, this would weaken the the torsion bars. The bars twist when the arms, or the tank, is driven over uneven terrain. Do this. hold the tip of one of your fingers, and twist your finger left to right. Picture the hand doing the twisting as the swingarm and wheel. same thing on these tanks. ;D

Spud, sorry, should have been more specific when I said I maske the areas not covered by Zimm. These are the areas where all the tool brackets, cleaning rod tube, spare tracks etc etc. I noticed this on a couple of ref pics and also a museum JP. Panthers also did not have zimm where the brackets and misc are located.
