I could swear I had already started a thread for this build, but I'm not finding it anywhere - which means that I most likely did so on MHI during our "hiatus". New thread! This is an all-resin kit by Al Wong of a non-film starfighter. Research link here: starwars.wikia.com/wiki/CloakShape_fighterContents of The Bag: With a closeup of The Cockpit: Here she is all assembled along with some minor modifications I made. Added a bit of PE to the top of the hull to spruce it up a bit, also detailed the cockpit with some styrene strip. I didn't like how the guns looked, so I scratched replacements from styrene rod and aluminum tube. Cockpit closeup: And the whole shebang with some primer (waist guns not attached for ease of painting):

So I had a good bit of time to myself this evening with every intention of hurling some paint at this thing.
I totally choked.
Couldn't decide on a scheme I liked...am currently scouring a stack o' books plus the internets. If anyone has any suggestions, shoot them this way!

Dupes
I recognize that. You did have a thread for it.. perhaps at MHI?
I agree, do something digital. Blacks and greys and white with some deep color bands for markings. Go nuts man!

I'm going to need to track down some hexagon templates in various sizes - that green pattern is verrrrry interesting!

Trying to finish up some builds for the rest of the fall shows, so this one is sort of backburnered...might have to work on it anyway. Heh. Currently leaning towards one of these two schemes:

Oh boy... both looks great! Figuring how can you paint the camo... cut templates for this I assume?

Both are pretty cool M. If you could find the right size hex's it would be kinda the same as doing disc camo I'd think.

One of the guys on my other forum (a Star Wars forum) suggested that the hex scheme might work better on a ground-based unit like an AT-ST or something similar - I agreed. In fact I have something waiting for paint right now that would work. Started spraying the other option a little while ago.

Yeah, thinking either yellow or white. Need to decide on some markings and make it match up accordingly.
With this being an atmospheric fighter, I'll try to take full liberty and beat the tar out of it!

No doubt! Never had that color in my stable until recently when I found a mix for Flanker Blue that uses it. Always wondered what those wacky neon colors were for...

Spent some time going through the leftover decal stack (which is pretty sizable) pulling out stuff that would look good on here. Found some things I liked - think the Cloakshape looks the biz with some markings on! Cockpit closeup - now that the flat coat is over the decals, I can start detail painting in here (and everywhere else, too). Disaster narrowly averted last night when the whole model randomly flew out of my hands onto the bench (not the floor!). The only damage was the nose cannon which snapped off cleanly. Should be an easy fix, but I'll wait until I'm closer to the finish to put that back on along with the other guns.
