Some time ago I have begun doing my fav movie monster, besides the Alien, the mighty Predator. Due to the fact, that I am no big fan of big figures, I decided to do mine in 75mm. Big enough to add all details I would like to see, small enough to make a cool Base when finished. I have restarted to work on this guy again and will continue to do so. Sculpted in Magic Sculpt he will be loaded with even more details and some weapons of my own ideas. It is a combination of all Predators around and I wish I can finsih him in the near future. So far till know. Sometimes I think about the possibility to make some more Preds in this scale in different outfits, or carrying away some Alien Queen trophies, a scull from the queen as seen in the big narin figures! Amazing sculpting there Frank! I especially like the Preds gonad protection...you never know when that sneaky Alien will drop one below the belt lol Just out of curiosity have you had offers to get any of your sculpts cast and produced? With the level of skill you have sculpting this would seem to be a logical step! Looking forward to seeing more of this predator mate.

Thanks Shay, always cool when my bros like the stuff I do. And heck, I hope you say it, when you spot faults and do not like it because thats the only way for me to learn and enhance my "art". To answer you question, yes, I had some offers and requests. There was one request from a brand which wanted to start a new line of figures, fairy tales. The first figure should be a Mermaid I had to sculpt. You can imagine that I had tons of ideas for a real unique Sea Lady, not as usual you can bet! But what did they want? Big Boobs, long hair and a Bunny like look when you get what I mean. I was more in a Monster like Lady with a bitten-in little sea creature in one of her hands, a deep sea monster face with womans look and some jewelery. All mixed up on a Cthulhueque Base (the one I have shown here somewhere). But they wanted the sex bomb. And I said no. Call me crazy, but when I sculpt than from the heart and "only" doing what a producer want me to do is not my way. I have sold several one ofs and that is ok for me, I have painted lots of garagekits way back in the 90ties for collectors world wide and now I concentrate more on my own ideas. If somebody wants to have something, I would be always glad. Maybe I will do some castings this year by myself and build the figures like one ofs. We will see!

Hey...what's wrong with "big boobs, long hair and bunny"? ((((LOL))) That is one big reason why it would be hard-pressed to get me to do a commission....not really what I would want to do. Your creativity...and fun comes from setting your mind free! Now if you could make a scary-sick-a$$ sea monster look hot at the same time! Sign me up brotha!! LOL!! Outstanding progress on the Predator!! It's really coming together nicely!! I have a pile of sculpting junk ready to go here...just need the window in the schedule and I can try and let loose on something!! Try anyway!!

Hehe, Todd, of cause nothing is wrong with those attributes!! Sadyl, we had three or four different Mermaids from different producers these days, all more or less looking the same and I thought it would anhance the sells to come up with something different! A hot Monster, cool idea! A sexy witch riding the bullet so to say, maybe I will come up with something like that some timek! And, more important, YOU SCULPT??? How cool is that?? Hope to see some pics of your stuff soon, even if it is junk, like you said, this is always promising. I wait in patience!
As for the Pred, I do not try to copy some film design, I make a bunch of the films characters, designs they did and my own ideas. Limiting to one style is not my cup of tea, I think, we sculptors must keep ouer mind open to explore new horizons. Just like a martial arts master!

Open mind + Happy modeller!! Sculpt? ....me? LOL!! Well not yet anyway! I have dabbled in only a couple miniscule things. I do however amassed a few of the essential tools in the past month or so and was looking to dive in at some point. Even if in the end it meant I had an endless supply of heads, arms and legs to add to 1/35th scale junk I would be happy!! But if I could sculpt something one-off and odd-ball would be a bonus...LOL!! Maybe I'll get something started soon! I suppose making a rendition of the Blob is the best one to start with!!

Har, the Blob would be the ultimate kit! Doing it the way of the remake from the 80ties and it will be highly detailed. Sculpting isn´t only doing full figures, always adding some small details to a buyed one or sculpting some accessories are always the beginning. And making an human head with a likeness in whatever scale is the master class!

LOL...not quite up to "Master Class" status...need to get out of delivery boy status first!! But willing to play a little. We should add a sculpting section to the tips and techniques board...threads on making human parts...add-on parts...guts and maybe a possible "indescribable" section!

Todd, this is a super cool idea, lets start it! There is so many we can put in it and collect ideas, technniques, materials and and and. And I think it would be helpfull to all of us who do not want to make complete figures, but the smaller stuff and the little details which could be added to figures and kits. That would be the real deal!

Then it shall be done! Let me "figure" out where and pull some time and set up a sub-board of some kind and we can go from there!!
