Yesterday, I finished the boat for now, adding rowlocks and clamps for the masts. It would get a cover of oil after I will decide which, and my tests would be done. Different fittings inside like oars, masts, or stores would be done later, as I did not yet decide how to display all - whether classically on a stand, or in a diorama, and in diorama case the boat could be on deck, during launching, in tow, or sailing independently, which would need different fittings. Afterwards, I started the ship itself. The fit is fantastic, the necessary bevelling is already indicated with laser. So it looks in dry fit condition: And less then an hour later, bevelled and glued together. Its a current stand just a few minutes ago:

Hey
Thanks! The boat is actually also available as a separate kit, too, both in this size (95mm) and in a smaller 75mm version.

Great to know Peter...just looked! Now I am looking at the Polotsk....LOL!!! Polotsk is HOT! It is out this week, I was informed by Milania that I can now order it. Gunboat yawl is coming out in the upcoming week, and I am going to fetch both (Polotsk in PLUS version). I am considering a large diorama with Phoenix and Polotsk together myself, as they were operating in the same squadron for several years.

Moving on with the build. First, assembling the rear section, then adding the upper parts of the frames, and also the top timbers in between. These are snugly fitted in the holes in the structure deck. First planking pieces are used for arrangement of the timbers, to make sure these are forming the sides of the gun ports. As the laser cut is sligtly conical by nature, the timbers placement takes this in account, so that they are placed ideally in respect to the future planking. Then, the bow section is in works. A conductor is used for placement, but I forgot to photo it. A big assembly needs to be done in one single step, before the glue dries. First, adding the fore toptimbers, and then the main deck, then pushing in the conductor to correct the timber angles. Now, its ready to be planked
