Hi ajcmac! Nice aircraft! one of the few American aircraft i like. My most desireble American aircraf are the P-39 Airacobra, P-38 Lightning and F-6 Hellcat. Your cockpit looks awesome! I really like the gunsight.

Remco

AJ, making great progress. Props and the fading have always befuddled me in getting the wear look right. Mind if I ask to share how you accomplished the weathering variations on your prop blades? Awesome build. Rick Many thanks to all for your kind comments . Rick After I painted the blades of black applied XF-63 (Tamiya) with a few drops of white and very dilute (approximately 75% thinner) at the leading edge of the blades and then lines in the direction of rotation of the blades. I started weathering in Azure Blue. Regards ajcmac

Thanks Leon . While awaiting the arrival of Eduard mask (is taking longer than I thought) I was finishing small parts that normally leave behind and then walk forever to finish the model. Wells landing gear already painted missing weathering. The extra fuel tank. Landing gear, front. Landing gear back. Regards ajcmac

Thanks for the comments . Must be the worst model of Hasegawa in 1/32 I've ever built. The old problem of the Hasegawa, with one mold, try to make different versions. The same applies to the model in 1/48 scale. I've also built one. A fuselage that seems a lot of patchwork where they will fit the pieces for the different versions with a dubious fit. Another piece, more putty, more sanding. Here the windscreen with a 'frame' that does not exist. After sanding a bath with glossy varnish. Regards ajcmac

Fantastic build, one that I missed entirely! Can't wait to see more! I am no historian or rivet counter (and do know a little bit of the P40) but I believe that the P-40B was used by the Flying Tigers. The 'E' model came in late towards the end of that Campaign and only like 50 were delivered. I'll look more into it on what those difference were if you want. Jeff

No question Hasegawa doesn't make it easy with the different plugs for the fuselage for different versions. I've done a couple of the 1/48 kits But you've handled it just fine. very smooth paint job. Looking very nice.

I've found the trick with the fuselage plugs is to glue them to the fuselage halves before joining them. On the 1/48th P-40 I did I didn't do that and it was a disaster. For the 1/32 one I did and it was a non issues...just a light filler to eliminate the seam and that was it...the only problem I had with this kit was at the wing roots...and even then a simple spreader fixed that...I'm sorry you're having difficulty. Nevertheless...it looks great...it will be completely worth it!

Jeff Jeff the Tigers used the B/C early in the fight but once the US entered they were upgraded to newer a/c. They used the E version quite a bit. AJ that looks fantastic. When I saw the first bits of paint I wondered if you had changed your painting a bit but I see in the last set you have the same distinct look. Always impressed buddy. Excellent paint, fantastic build. Joe

Great process!! Great trick how to paint the canopy separately from the plane... that's something I could use when I do my first wingy build!

First lay me say that is just kicka$$. the hasegawa multi version molding has not put you off in the least.
I too want to know how you get that glass-like finish.
