Another night of lots of fettling etc and not much to show. The wings are attached, resin intakes on and some more photo etch added. Canopy rails, rear view mirror and HUD. I'm going to have to shim the rear of the wings. There's quite a gap there. There's a few more parts to go on then it's time to prep for painting.......And then my favourite bit. Priming.

Panzer the base will be a lot smaller than it is now. Evenin all. I've been cracking on with the equpment set. I've done the other stowage bin, the warning sign A frame and the ricketiest ladder in the RAF. There was an astounding amount of swearing involved in the making of that ladder. It looks better in the flesh and the step angles not so far out. To disguise it I can do this.. All I need is a reason for him to be up there. The Harrier itself is closer and closer to paint but i'm constantly spotting another thing that needs doing. Having someone else paying for it certainly concentrates the mind. It's definately given me more patience than i've used before. The front undercarriage bay looked a tad sparse so i Put a bit of plasticard in to make look a bit more realistic. And finally all the photo etch i've done so far.

Not achieved much, a busy few days. A few decals added but I have had a bit of a disaster. I slid the roundel on the side of the intake when i suddenly realized that with the resin intakes the flaps are open. One ruined decal later. Must check me stash for a spare. Otherwise all the undercarriage is painted and the pilot has had a lick of paint to. And the exhausts after their first coat of paint. Not sure quite where to go with them next. I used Vallejo natural steel with Vallejo smoke to add a brownish/burnt tint. As you can see it's not quite worked.

I shall rectify the nozzles Selwyn. Logical, If you want a good home for your Harrier....lol. I've been working on the oxygen trolley. There's nine pieces on the brake handle and still more to go on. Fiddly is not the word.

She has legs. Yay. Plus I reckon about 75% of the decals. The obligatory nose on shot. And finally some shots of everything so far. I sprayed satin black straight onto the oxygen bottles then scuffed them up with a sanding stick. I've left one pretty much perfect for a bit of variety.

air bleed ducts are added and i'll be sorting a centre canopy guide rail soon. And the side guide rails are now correctly placed. And some oil drums. They'll eventually end up covered in cam netting so you'll hardly be able to see them.

The Unimog has arrived. Ten minutes later we have this. In one of the vids the Unimog on there has its bonnet/nose covered with a tarp. I think i'll copy that, that way I can make the bonnet curved without having to worry to much about detailing it. My biggest worry is the size of the thing, it's massive. And with a figure Much work to be done.

The Unimog has entered the chop shop. I forgot to take pics of the cutting. The original shape And the new shape. And me first crack a the bonnet. Plasticard heated under one of me lamps for a few seconds and bent roughly to shape. I'll have to make a new grill and use it to increase the curve across the front of the bonnet. I'm contemplating fitting working headlights. Whether that happens remains to be seen though.

The Unimog has working headlights. And it was a fair it easier than I thought it would. First I had to build up the front grill area to get the curve in. Then cut the holes for the LED's. And lit. Still plenty more to be done. If it all works out I may even leave the tarp off

Today I have mostly been..experimenting with cam netting. This is how far i've gotten. I used hessian bandage as the base. The i used some foam insulation to make a crude stamp to apply PVA. Then the insides of the Mrs herbal teabags (No, she doesn't know) sprinkled over . This is my first attempt. And the bigger picture. The next lot needs far more scrim covering it. but otherwise im happy
