Thanks guys! This is the stage where I start to get nervous. I have ruined many a decent build with bad technique, but I have been watching and learning from some of the best I can find and I think I have it now. We shall see very soon... I added some dark earth to the dunkelgelb and painted the lower hull and running gear to get that permanently stained dirty look. Of course this is just the base and it will be getting much dirtier than this. Here is a picture of some of the PE that nearly killed the build. What a pain but looks good now. Worth it? I don't know yet. The cleaning rod PE and the mud flap with the hinge were pretty hard for me. I just had to put the shurzen on one side just to see how it looks. Dennis

Looking good Dennis! The schurzen always complete the 'look' on these vehicles IMHO.

Love PzIIIs with schurzen! Looks great. What PE did you use for the front and rear mud flaps?

Love PzIIIs with schurzen! Looks great. What PE did you use for the front and rear mud flaps? I used E.T. Model C35-003. Thanks everyone! I have been doing something every night on this just to make sure I don't lose my mojo and get this one to the finish line. I painted some of the rubber on the road wheels last night. I have some paint in the mail as I type to do some highlights and really make what is actually a very busy tank really pop. Dennis

Thanks guys! I just couldn't wait to try out something I have been thinking about for my muffler. I probably should have waited until the camo was on but I just couldn't. There is still some work to do on the pipes but what do you think? Dennis

Looks good Dennis! Pipes are fine. Notthing wrong here. Nice kit. I love the battle of Kursk. Have some books about it.

Don't get too nervous brother, many a time I thought I'd ruined a model with a less than ideal paintjob but found that fading, filters, and assorted other layering techniques pulled me from the fire as it were. Hang in there, it looks great and you will do fine
Regards, Mark

I tried modulation for the first time today. I didn't take it too far as it was my first try. I used the AMMO dunkelgelb modulation set. I am pretty happy with it. I did not use the brightest color in the set. I am going to brush paint it on the details to bring them out a little. And yes I am stalling on the camo... Thanks for looking Dennis

Looks like a solid foundation for the camo work to come Dennis. Can't put it off too much longer though.

Your modulation is spot on. You've got a great base to work with. Loving it. Weathering is going to set this one on fire. Nothing is as cool in the armor bizz as an armored out Panzer!

Good work on the modulation. I like to save the lightest color for brush painting details as well.

You nailed it! I did the same thing... I didn't spray the lightest tone but instead I hand painted the details. Keep up with the great work!

Cruising along on this one. I did some highlighting with the brush and the lightest color. Unfortunately I will be in Savannah for a gymnastics meet. My daughter not me. So no camo this weekend Anyway, here is where she stands now. Dennis

Love how highlighting makes the details pop especially the bolts!!! Have fun in Savannah! Hoping to visit that place this summer...

Those details are popping and I've now got a new technique to try. Think I'll grab an OD modulation set. I'm liking the way this looks. Good luck to your daughter too but don't sell yourself short...give some gymnastics a try.

Nice color modulation on that tank. I am looking forward to see the camo come alive.
