Holy moly Jimmy... May well be the best looking 88 I've seen. I'd even let you pick the model on my shelf to scrap to make room for that. Is there a dip thread somewhere? I'd live to see the SBS on how you achieved that paint job. "Holy tonal variations Batman!"

Man this is hot! May have to track one of these down (like I need any more kits).
Good to know about the Montex masks...will be sure to apply right before use.

Thanks so much for the kind words everyone. I really appreciate it coming from such a talented community. Holy moly Jimmy... May well be the best looking 88 I've seen. I'd even let you pick the model on my shelf to scrap to make room for that. Is there a dip thread somewhere? I'd live to see the SBS on how you achieved that paint job. "Holy tonal variations Batman!" The WIP is here: www.spamodeler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=283I had also been running it on the other forum that briefly took over for MSC earlier this year, but I didn't transfer it back. I actually stopped this one right in the beginning of the painting process and subsequently went on a several month break. When I got back to the bench and resumed I didn't blog the build because I just wanted to focus on finishing. Basically it's the same black base technique DoogsATX uses. A lot of that variation isa result of oil filtering.

Man this is hot! May have to track one of these down (like I need any more kits). Good to know about the Montex masks...will be sure to apply right before use. Certainly worthy of your stash I think I've used Montex 3 other times and another vinyl brand as well. All those others they performed well (except that the annoying way the are cut makes them fiddly). However those all were left on two or three days tops. 5+ months seems to be an issue though.

Fantastic build! Picked up the kit on a whim a couple weeks ago and really glad I did. Hope I can do mine half the justice you did yours.
Cheers.

Rick, thanks kindly. I do appreciate it!
Jeff, it's a great kit. There isn't much that should give you too much trouble. I can't wait to see you build.

That turned out really nice. All of these 1/32 scale kits i have been seeing lately are blowing me away, and this one is one of the best in my opinion. Great work.

I apologize, sir. Somehow I missed your question. Sorry it took me so long. I'm guesstimating that it's around 18 inch wingspan. I measured it at some point, but I don't remember exatly. It's about equally as long. I was just surprised that it actually doesn't take up much more room than a 1/32 P-47.
