I mean, I HAVE the Legend kit (all resin ridiculousness), but I don't think I could buy that book just for that one build. I'm guessing it's not particularly cheap?

The M113 Zelda APC in IDF service is 50 bucks at Sprue Brothers.
If that'll give ya an idea.

If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the precipitate.

Part one? What? Damn. Blame that MMIR double issue from back in 2008 (#41/42, if I'm not mistaken) that had a GREAT buildup of that Legend kit. May have to add that to list for 2015.

The M113 Zelda APC in IDF service is 50 bucks at Sprue Brothers. Yowza. At least that one applies to a family of vehicles, so I could somehow find a way to justify the cost spread over several builds (or something). Heh.

The books do run between $50 and $70 depending on where you look. An investment in any book certainly depends on the use you get from it obviously. I suppose you are somewhat right in the Zelda book (another one I have here) could be used for just about any M113...with the exception the IDF customizes their own stuff, but the base is the same. With the Puma there is not too much left from the Centurion but the hull and wheels but these books can be decent weathering references if for nothing else the inspirational value alone.

You have the Zelda one as well? I may need to get you to drag both of these to Valleycon in three months so I can take a peek at them. Buying expensive books is one thing, but buying unseen expensive books is another!
