You nailed it... the nose looks smooth! It was a nightmare on my recent rotary build AH-6 Little Bird!

Looking great... love those rivets on the Huey! I think they are sharper than older Huey kits.

Paint looks good to me. This must have been a pretty relaxing build in comparison to the 109 and what you're planning with the Fort

Nice work on the pre-shade and paint work Joe. Can't beat an IDF scheme for these kinds of possibilities.

Wonderful work Joe. I love the paint job.
I take it your preshade of black was done over panel lines etc and not the whole model? How many cots of the desert grey did you use for the top coat?

Many thanks.
Wes the preshade was simply I painted the entire build Flat Black. As for how many coats that is a bit more complex. In some places it was three or four very light coats keeping away from the panel lines. In others it was more like eight or nine including a misting coat to blend in everything.

Well after some difficulties the decals are on. These decals were problematic, they cracked and split over the detail. I will need to paint over the cracks. Next up is to clean up the decal issues and then paint the blades. Not much is left. All comments, critiques, and criticism are encouraged. Joe

Well folks this is my "Almost" post. The build is almost done. And this time I have a new toy to play with. I have a 36" cube photo/light booth. Although with this set of pics the same issues are still there. Pics To be honest the build looks decent. I like the colors and I like the way the paint went. I do not however like the photos as the color is washed out and the snow white backdrop looks like a light grey. I am at a loss as to what to do with this but I keep trying. I have tried exposure, lighting, and different positioning of the lights. They all seem to come out the same. Ahh well....rant suppressed for now. All comments, critiques, and criticism are encouraged. Joe

Joe, the heli looks awesome. I think the paint and weathering are spot on. The pictures are much improved too. They do seem to still have a cool tint. What are you using for processing (if anything)?
