Hello everybody, Alex and I have been threatening to do something like this for quite a while. Here's the kit I am building (or will be starting soon):  Here is Alex's kit:  I think these will be the Mojo boosters both of us need right now. |

I'm looking forward to the GeeBee! The rigging and general buildup should be pretty fast. But the paint will be the real challenge. That's a heck of a complex scheme.

Thanks guys. I am looking forward to this one too. The paint shouldn't be too bad John. The kit instructions have templates for the wing masking.

Thanks Bill. Well guys, here we go. I had heard bad things about the Williams Brothers kits in the past. I can't see anything glaringly bad on this one, so I am hoping it will be a pretty quick build. Here's the sprue shot:  Construction starts tonight. Thanks for looking in. |

That Gee Bee looks an awful lot like a Soviet I-16. Hope you're doing the box art scheme!

I will be doing the box art scheme. It should be a simple (?) exercise in masking. I will be adding some ribs on the interior of the cockpit, and additional details on the engine, but they should not take long at all.

Looking at the progress Alex has made on his new kit gave me the kick in the pants I needed. I have been making progress on the GEE BEE lately. I have the stringers added to the interior of the cockpit:  I also managed to get the rocker arms and ignition ring installed on the engine.  I am hoping to have the rest of the cockpit painted and installed in a few days. Thanks for looking in. |

Thanks Andy. It is a fun little break. Thanks for the compliment on the engine. I do still need to wire it, but I won't do that until it's painted.

I was surprised by how small this plane is Leon. The model is smaller than most 1/48 scale WWII fighters.
