Hello everybody, Alex and I have been threatening to do something like this for quite a while. Here's the kit I am building (or will be starting soon): Here is Alex's kit: I think these will be the Mojo boosters both of us need right now.

I'm looking forward to the GeeBee! The rigging and general buildup should be pretty fast. But the paint will be the real challenge. That's a heck of a complex scheme.

Thanks guys. I am looking forward to this one too. The paint shouldn't be too bad John. The kit instructions have templates for the wing masking.

Nice! The GeeBee has always been one of those fascinating subjects for me...probably because it was fast and dangerous! Looking forward to this one.

Thanks Bill. Well guys, here we go. I had heard bad things about the Williams Brothers kits in the past. I can't see anything glaringly bad on this one, so I am hoping it will be a pretty quick build. Here's the sprue shot: Construction starts tonight. Thanks for looking in.

Hello all! Here's a sprue shot of my contribution to this build. I have also started working on the kit a bit, cleaning some flash etc, and on initial fit, the parts are pretty poor, unlike the first glance at Bruce's kit. I will be ordering another one just to see if my kit, being an older produced one, has a worse fit because of the inferior plastic.

Bad news on the poor fit issues Alex! Hope the new kit is better.

That Gee Bee looks an awful lot like a Soviet I-16. Hope you're doing the box art scheme!

I will be doing the box art scheme. It should be a simple (?) exercise in masking. I will be adding some ribs on the interior of the cockpit, and additional details on the engine, but they should not take long at all.

Well guys, after much deliberation (not really, but "much deliberation" sounds better than doing something on a whim), I have decided to switch kits to the Williams Brothers Caudron, due to fit issues with the Super Solution. I do have a new Super Solution on the way, but it is currently on backorder, and thus, I received the Caudron first. I do intend to continue work on this Solution kit, and will post updates as well, but I am putting my main focus on the Caudron. Here are some sprue shots!

Looking at the progress Alex has made on his new kit gave me the kick in the pants I needed. I have been making progress on the GEE BEE lately. I have the stringers added to the interior of the cockpit: I also managed to get the rocker arms and ignition ring installed on the engine. I am hoping to have the rest of the cockpit painted and installed in a few days. Thanks for looking in.

Thanks Andy. It is a fun little break. Thanks for the compliment on the engine. I do still need to wire it, but I won't do that until it's painted. Hopefully, I will have more to post very soon.

Hello all, I did some trimming and test fitting on the Caudron, and it fits together miles better than the Super Solution. I have been digging up some pictures and diagrams of the cockpit to try and figure out how much I want to detail it. The verdict, theres nothing there, so what little detail there is I will attempt to put in. I did manage to drill the one cylinder of the engine for pushrods and opened up the exhaust holes.
